Breaking Out the Break Man Customs (Update)

As reported previously, the first volume of Hitoshi Ariga’s Mega Man Gigamix is now available from UDON Entertainment. What’s more, our previous report also included a few preview pages, including one showing off a rather striking image of Break Man, the alter-ego of everyone’s favorite scarf-wearing ‘bot, Proto Man.
And as we’ve seen recently, Dr. Light‘s prototype has received his fair share of model kits and action figures, but short of an alternate head for the Kubrick Proto Man, “Break Man” has rarely– if ever– been seen in plastic.

That has done little to stop collector Jin Saotome Nagano Ken, however. In fact, it seems to have only served to fire him up, as he has taken one of Kotobukiya’s Proto Man figures, and customized it into the spitting image of Ariga’s Break Man. Check it out:

Figure variants are not at all uncommon in Japan’s toy market; one can only hope we might see a figure like this released before long. Ken has shown you how it’s done, Kotobukiya: the ball is in your court, now.

Edit: It has come to our attention that the custom figure above has been incorrectly attributed to Jin Saotome; apparently, the creator is actually one Nagano Ken, whose website (with more pics of the figure) can be seen here. We sincerely regret and apologize for the error, and thank Auto for bringing it to our attention.
