Mega Man 9 Remix Project Not Dead Afterall

It's hard to believe it has been a whole year since we last covered the Mega Man 9 remix project. Many had speculated that the project must be dead by this point. But project manager k-wix says otherwise:

Just wanted to let you know that the project has NOT been abandoned/forgotten. I said that I would see this through till the end and that's precisely what I plan to do!

Here's your update information - We're about 80% completed and awaiting tracks from just a few more mixers. The 'Mixer' section of the website has been updated! Our 'Tentative' release date is

March 1st 2011 That's right, it's coming. . .

Though it seems we might have to wait just a bit longer than even that. Another member of the OCR community, KyleJCrb, writes:

Just as a note: You probably won't be able to get this out as an official OCR release by March. There's about 4 projects in queue ahead of this one that are already done and essentially just waiting.

The Mega Man 9 remix project has definitely had a rocky road to completion, but it's looking like the light at the end of the tunnel is finally visible. Even if the album isn't available on March 1st, it's still comforting to know that it's now at 80% completion.

If you've forgotten how the album is sounding by this point (and considering how long it's been, I can hardly blame you), here are the teasers we've posted before:

Teaser #2 [audio:http://kwix.shackspace.com/mm9/mix/mm9teaser2.mp3]

If you want to share you support with the people involved, you can find the forum thread here. And to prevent you from scratching your head in confusion, yes the last song in teaser #2 is a bonus track from Mega Man ZX.
