The TMMN Megacast #19 – Rockman Zover

Hey! Did you notice? A new Mega Man game was announced! What platform is it for, you ask? Um… we’ll tell you later!

Rockman Xover (Zover?) is, of course, on peoples’ minds. But before we get to that, Heat Man, Tabby, AWD, and myself (mainfinger) discuss the 25th anniversary rock and techno albums, the soundtrack E Can, the Mega Man Legends 3 concept album fan project, and Archie’s crossover comic series between Mega Man and Sonic.

And, of course, lot’s of tangents. All this and more on episode #19 of the Megacast: Rockman Zover!

    More like

    Rockman`z Over

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    ha

    heh..

    ;__;

  2. Skybane_Zero says:

    Yeah, I’d appreciate your help a bit more with the concept album project when you get the time, Heat, lol. Thanks for the complements on my art, though!

    Anyway, an excellent podcast, as usual.

  3. Munchy says:

    Huh. They just added the Z?

    More than anything, I find the iOS game kinda redundant when they already have the Battle Network games. I’m not a huge RPG guy by any stretch of the imagination, but those games were cool. They need to make an anthology.

  4. Daniel Lind says:

    I’m sorry for being a little aggressive here, but guys, nobody is interested about your living in San Franciso. I’m interested in what you have to say as fellow Mega Man fans but please keep the program on topic, not many people have hours to listen to random chatter.
    Keep it professional.

    Thank you.

  5. rockman says:

    Great, I missed the podcast so much!.

  6. pstart says:

    @rockman
    I hear that. Love the podcasts!

    I honestly hope Rockman Xover turns out being better than expected. Just like AWD, I always dreamed for this concept to be used on something bigger and better, and hope that still comes true. But, all I want for Xover to be is an enjoyable iPhone game. Changing the gameplay style from platformer to RPG seems to be a step in the right direction in creating something suitable for the IOS platform, but we’ll have to wait and see if its actually any fun.

  7. Heat Man says:

    @Daniel Lind: If you want it to be professional you’re gonna have to start paying us.

  8. undamned says:

    Sweet. I’ll have to check this out after I get off work.

    @ Daniel Lind: not getting your money’s worth? :)
    -ud

  9. Tabby says:

    What Heat Man said. $100 bucks per pod caster, each pod cast :O

    Also, I had to hit mute every three seconds to cough up a lung. Because visiting the west coast killed me. I demand hazard pay!

  10. OmegaMan says:

    Talking about random stuff? Hell, I could do -that-.

  11. Andrew says:

    lol there making there own podcast they can say wat they want if you think they go off subject go find another megaman based podcast, good luck

  12. Tayo says:

    I’m not sure what the Z is for, but says ロックマン クロスオーバー meaning Rockman Crossover. So yeah, it’s Crossover.

  13. zerokunai410 says:

    do they still have podcast i look it up on itunes but its not there

  14. mainfinger says:

    @Tayo

    It’s a (bad) joke based on the fact that when you start a word with an X in the English language, it’s pronounced like a Z. Since I constantly see it spelled as Rockman Xover, my mind reads it Zover by default.

  15. HF says:

    @mainfinger: Well obviously their intended market can make better sense of it than the common westerner.

    Having it work for said western market would be the localization team’s job.

  16. Omar says:

    I like brewing and drinking coffee to this sort of podcast.

  17. SketchMan3 says:

    I loved this podcast! =D

    That song that you guys played during the break was awesome. What was that?

    @Daniel Lind: I couldn’t agree less. =\ Speak for yourself, yo.

    And you can always skip ahead, anyway, if it’s really that serious.

  18. Tyner says:

    It’s read “Rockman Crossover”

    Like how Capcom did Street Fighter x Tekken.

  19. Ekkusu says:

    Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse.

  20. Davis says:

    Rockman xover huh….. well i have to say the *over* part is prob right b/c after they show us one screen shot of this fail pos game i bet it just has Zero as the main hero rather then X again so lame and out of date X is suppose to be the hero the only rep with his own train of thoughts and emotions Zero is just a Killer with a few fancy moves and saber so simple and easy and yet not half the char or hero MegaMan X is enough about that though in my opinion from what i have seen from Capcom so far as of the last 2 years i dont expect anything from them nor should any of you if you have a small glimmer of hope dash it out right away or hold on to the fact that your 10 years old the only way Capcom would bring back MegaMan is if there was Millions of $ to be made off of it and of course its not MegaMans creator making the game anymore b/c he quit Capcom many say he retired but maybe… just maybe he knew all along what a pos Capcom really was? all other games have been fail from Capcom in my home town i can just take back the games with the resip and i claim they have an internal scratch b/c i cant play any game Capcom makes anymore b/c their all jive so sad

  21. LanceHeart says:

    @Davis

    You do know there are screenshots of the game already, right?

  22. mainfinger says:

    @SketchMan3

    It was the promotional song “Klicke Lafonica” I created for the Legends 3 concept album (details & song link: http://www.themmnetwork.com/2012/08/13/kicking-off-the-mega-man-legends-3-concept-album-project/ )

    btw, thanks!

  23. Rcase says:

    Very good show. I do agree with what you guys had to say about the iOS game, that it wouldn’t even be a blip on fans radar if a proper game was coming out. I told that to a friend last year when we was getting annoyed with all the Mega Man fans getting mad over UMvC3′s lack of Mega Man.

    Also Capcom Mobile is part of Capcom, they should be going for the same quality the rest of the company dose and stop trying to hide behind the excuse of “We make games for da phone”. Also Capcom should stop trying to distance them selves from their mobile division, like they did when their mobile division ripped off Splosion Man. Funny story the only reasons the Splosion Man developers didn’t sue Capcom over their rip-off was because Capcom has more lawyers and because they made Mega Man

  24. Davis says:

    LOL just looked at the screen shots and the game is a total piece of jive lol wow so boring bad Graph and its a Ipod game to boot how bout that fail crap hahahahahaah * roll over laughing at Game development * oh man i needed a good laugh after Legends 3 but i never thought i would laugh at a MegaMan Fail seeing as how hes my fav game but i just have lost all hope for it now Capcom should just do stand up by this point

  25. Ian Flynn started in 2006. “Genesis” was an anniversary story he did that adapted the first two Sonic games. It’s not a restart of anything, just a side-story of sorts where Robotnik reset reality and Sonic has to fix it.

  26. SketchMan3 says:

    @mainfinger: Thanks. I knew it sounded familiar, lol

  27. Okami Delta says:

    @Davis: You’re not alone, I have also been disappointed with Capcom, but at least we still have megaman games that were created by Keji Inafune. So let make the best out of Inafune.
