Just wanted to post a quick update for those of you wondering about the results of the “What Am I Fighting For?!” contest: we haven’t forgotten about it, but some things of a personal nature have recently come up, which has derailed the timeline a little bit.
We’ll have the winners posted for you soon, and we thank you for your patience.
Hear Heat Man Talk Mega Man 10 (And More)

I’ve come to the conclusion that Heat Man has an elaborate plan to make me look like a pushy jerk-face by forcing me (at Atomic Fire-point) to plug WingDamage.com 2 days in a row.
This time, Heat Man joins me and a few others on our weekly videogame podcast. Mega Man comes up in several ways as Heat bears his soul in the form of his history with Mega Man fan sites. He also shares with us his experience at CES including the time he spent with Mega Man 10.
You’ll also hear the usual talk of “what we’ve been playing” followed by a discussion of some of the game related news items of the past week. But let’s cut to the chase. You’re really going to listen to hear Heat’s sultry voice. So what are you waiting for? Head on over and grab the podcast!

Just a quick little site update today. We’ve finally filled out our Interviews section here on the site, which includes original MMN pieces with Capcom’s Rey Jimenez, the rapper Random (aka MegaRan), and artist Patrick Spaziante.
In addition, we are seeking to archive older interviews from various sources, such as interviews with Keiji Inafune from Capcom Unity, GameSpot, and other sources. If you know of a Mega Man-related interview we don’t have, link us to it and we will try to include it.
Reminder: The “What am I Fighting For?!” Contest Nears Its Close, With Slight Extension

Okay, folks, we’re down to our final week of The Mega Man Network’s “What am I Fighting For?!” Contest. We last extended the contest deadline to January 15th, so that people would have the Christmas/New Year holidays to work on their entry, plus a little more time.
In doing so, I freely admit I really should have looked at a calendar. Having done so, I’m extending the contest by two more days– you have until the clock strikes Midnight PST on the night of Sunday, January 17th to submit your entry to mmncontest(at)gmail(dot)com, thus giving you the weekend to finish things up.
And honestly? I don’t want to divulge numbers yet, but there have not been a lot of entries thus far. Ergo, if you enter, your chances may still be pretty good. Click here for the rules and a reminder of what you are fighting for.

Just a quick note, a reminder of sorts to those who kept up with our last post about the contest: we have decided to extend the contest deadline indefinitely to allow for more people to enter and have time to work on and polish up their entries.
I have not heard back from Jaxel regarding any preference as to when to end this, but I’m hoping that with the Christmas and New Year holidays and vacation coming up, that it will be enough time for people to do what they would like to do. As such, I figure ending the contest a little into the new year– I’m thinking at the end of the second week of January– should hopefully give people the extra time they need.
And for those who have already submit entries to the contest, you are more than welcome to adjust, fine-tune, or otherwise work more on your entries and send them to us again, if you wish. We still have the originals if those are what you prefer to stand with.
Remember, entries and questions go to mmncontest(at)gmail(dot)com.
Thanks, and I hope we’ll see more of your best inquiries into the reason for which you are engaged in conflict.
Announcing a TMMN music project: BN Remix!

We’ve had this in the planning stages for a couple of months now, but we can finally let the cat out of the bag. In honor of Operate Shooting Star, some of us at TMMN are putting together a special arranged album of the original MegaMan Battle Network called BN Remix, and the project homepage is now online. We already have a few samples available!
Right now we’re aiming to have the album released in the summer of 2010 to coincide with the North American release of Operate Shooting Star. Aside from the arranged music itself, we will be creating a digital CD booklet, and possibly some other features. Nothing is entirely set it stone at this point. But we definitely want to make sure the album is representative of the Battle Network fans’ voice.
So we hope you’ll enjoy the project, and keep up with updates as they occur (they probably won’t all be posted via TMMN). We do intend to open site affiliation sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled for updates. Thanks!
Introducing Our Brand New Community Forum!
November 6, 2009 by Heat Man

Nearly a year ago, we began making efforts to revamp The Mega Man Network, making it a richer and more user friendly site. We are still continuing with these efforts, which honestly goes to show how lazy we are. But progress is progress.
Today is perhaps a small milestone, though, because we are ready to unfurl our new TMMN Community Forum. Unfortunately, you all must rejoin, should you so desire. The new forum is a much newer version of the script than the one before, and truthfully, having people rejoin will afford them the opportunity to check out what’s new. However, you not need to be a member to interact either, as we are now allowing guests to post replies to topics.
A couple of other things to note. The old forum is not gone, just inactive. If there is some thread of posts or the like that’s vitally important to you, we should be able to go back and get it for you. Also, our gallery is no longer bridged with the forum, so fan artists now must use the gallery to login and such. We will also be working on the gallery to make that a little easier to use too.
Anyway, I know this is all a bit sudden, but I recommend you just hit the ground running and have fun! We hope you enjoy the new community!
The MMN Antarctic Megapaluza Wraps Up
August 30, 2009 by LBD "Nytetrayn"

Well, friends: it’s been a long and frosty month of August this year, as we’ve taken great pains to try to appeal to the one continent on Earth who seemed to have absolutely no presence on ClustrMaps, Antarctica.
So, did it work? Well, in hindsight, it would probably have really helped if we were trying to appeal to a continent that actually appears on ClustrMaps, so I suppose at best, the jury is still out on this one.
Nonetheless, to wrap things up for our loyal fans who have followed us since we began this cockamamie scheme, we’re taking them right back to the beginning as we revisit the original Mega Man frosty bossy, Ice Man, in a little tale known only as “Ice Age.”
Enjoy!
Hmm, guess they could beat Air Man after all.
Yeah, I know… that was pretty cold of me to say.
Join us next time, as we… well… hmm. You know, I’m not sure we actually have a solid idea for another theme month. Any suggestions that we might take under advisement?
MMN Antarctic Megapaluza Part 8 – Mega Man X3 Blizzard Buffalo

Today, we take a look at the eighth part of the MMN Antarctic Megapaluza, as Ryudo races to conquer the frostiest fiend of Dr. Doppler’s army, Blizzard Buffalo. With no Heart Tanks or Subtanks for X, he faces off against numerous vicious Mechaniloids as he makes his way into the boss’s inner-sanctum, with a brief interlude as Zero makes his way to the hidden capsule of Dr. Light.
Once Ryudo reaches Buffalo, keep your eyes peeled for an AI exploit which can be performed with the newly-acquired Air Dash:
Well, so much for him.
And so much for the gameplay portion of the MMN Antarctic Megapaluza; we’ve run through our cache of eight videos, and one slot remains in the month, which we’re holding for something… special. Check back with us on Sunday as we close out our month of clickraising from our friends and fans at the South Pole!
MMN Antarctic Megapaluza Special 7 – Mega Man X Chill Penguin

The month of August may be drawing to a close, but our goal to reach out to the denizens of Antarctica will not cease now! Curious as to how our specials have been recieved among those in the far South Pole, LBD Nytetrayn personally has gone down to gauge the reactions of those who have dwelled there.
…it has been several days since negotiations with the penguins have begun. I am certain however we will be able to make a deal that will release Nytetrayn and his fellow hostages in due time. If that does not work, I fear we may have to take more…drastic measures, such as having Mav bust them out in his mobile suit.
Until then, we shall remain vigilant and continue to reach out to the populous of Antarctica with yet another video by yours truely, this time a no damage trek through the winter snow base of Chill Penguin, the first arctic themed boss of the X series.
Stay with us as with luck, Nyte will be rescued as the final video of the Megapaluza will appear within the week. Until then, this is your Local Geohound signing off.
~Ryudo, who is well aware Nyte is just away for the weekend. Couldn’t resist, though >_>
