Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack Strikes Switch This Thursday

Back in May, Inti Creates made a pair of exciting announcements, one of which was practically swept aside in favor of the other. Given that the other was Mighty Gunvolt Burst, a damn fine game that gave the Mighty No. 9 cast a much-needed chance at salvation, it’s easy enough to understand why people might have soon forgotten than the pair of Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 would both be coming to the Nintendo Switch as the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack.

But now that we’re a couple of months out from Mighty Gunvolt Burst‘s release (you can read my review here), it’s time to remind ourselves that the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack is coming out soon. Like, really soon. As in “this Thursday” soon.

As revealed in the announcement, this two-in-one package features a host of updates to the two included games, including an increase to 60 frames per second from 30, all the downloadable content from the Nintendo 3DS version, revamped menus, tons of languages supported, HD rumble and visuals, and more.

The price in the Nintendo eShop will be $39.99 USD, with “equivalent pricing” in Europe. However, if you’re not interested in the digital and want a shiny copy for your game shelf, there’s good news! Inti Creates has teamed with publisher Nighthawk Interactive to bring the game to retailers for the same price sometime later this year (stay tuned for announcements).

For my part, I’m currently waist-deep in the organized crime scene of Kamurocho as I review Yakuza Kiwami, but I’ve already got a review code for this and since I’m already familiar with both games, I think I’ll be able to squeeze out a review for you guys when the game hits at noon EST this Thursday.
