Word has been buzzing lately that indie developer Inti Creates would pull the curtain back on two new titles at their upcoming BitSummit panel this weekend, but now we have confirmation on what one of those titles will be: A sequel to the retro-styled throwback crossover, Mighty Gunvolt.
Titled Mighty Gunvolt Burst, little is known about the game at this point except that it features two playable characters (the titular heroes Gunvolt from Azure Striker Gunvolt and Beck from Mighty No. 9; no word on Ekoro from Gal*Gun) and implements a character growth system. Per the title, there is also a new "Burst Combo" system, which adds a bonus score when taking down adjacent enemies.
As with the original Mighty Gunvolt, it appears that Mighty Gunvolt Burst is implementing a retro graphics style reminiscent of the Nintendo Entertainment System Mega Man games.
The digitally-distributed title will be available at an as-yet unannounced date for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch, with the latter also featuring HD Rumble for item dowsing.
