Comcept Posts Update on Mighty No. 9 Demo Delay

Up and down, back and forth, to and fro; news regarding Mighty No. 9 as of late has been quite the roller coaster. Fortunately, the latest update is pretty much pure up — at least, from the point of everything else that’s happened.

Following the news that the demo to make up for the full game’s delay had itself been delayed due to distribution issues with Steam, no new release date has been given, but they’ve listened to feedback and are working to incorporate it into the demo. As for distribution, it looks like they’re going through the folks at Humble Bundle to get it out to all of the backers who will be receiving it.

As for the changes? The delay is so that they can remove the Digital Rights Management (DRM) coding, as well as the previously stated time limit (it was only slated to be playable for a month following its September 15th release date). So while the demo will be coming later than they’d hoped, backers will be able to play it for as long as they like until the full game becomes available (and potentially after, if they wish?).

From their website:

Comcept and all of our partners are working hard to get the demo ready and in our backers’ hands as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for this delay, but we hope you’ll like the resulting changes!

We will keep our backers up-to-date regarding the release of this demo as soon as we have more information.

As will I, when it comes my way.

Thanks to Michael S for the tip!
