Check Out Mega Man at the Super Smash Bros. Smash-Fest @ Best Buy

Less than a month ago, Nintendo revealed their plans for E3 coverage, including a special event at participating Best Buy stores across North America to allow players to get their hands on the very same E3 Super Smash Bros. demo for the Wii U that attendees will be playing next month in Los Angeles. We held off for the moment to see if there would be any confirmation of Mega Man as a playable character in these demos, and today, that confirmation has arrived!

From Nintendo’s press release: “The four-player demo of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U lets players battle it out against one another using their favourite characters from fan-favourite video game franchises like Pokémon, Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, and The Legend of Zelda.”

It doesn’t get much clearer than that!

The Smash-Fest events will be held in both the United States and Canada on Wednesday, June 11th from 4pm until 9pm and again on Saturday, June 14th from Noon to 5pm.

In the U.S., “the first 70 attendees at each event to pre-order Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U will receive a rare collectible Super Smash Bros. gold coin (one per customer, while supplies last). You will also get a $5 My Best Buy certificate when you pick up your fully paid game upon release.”

In Canada, “the first 25 attendees in line on Wednesday, June 11 and Saturday, June 14 at each event will receive a rare collectible Super Smash Bros. gold coin (one per customer, while supplies last). There will also be lots of great deals in store and online so be sure to check them out while at the event.”

For those of you in the U.S., you can find your nearest participating Best Buy location by visiting their website, then selecting your state and city.

For those of you in Canada, you can find the list of participating locations on Mario’s Hat and on the Best Buy Canada website.

The U.S. site also notes “Store exclusions are subject to change without notice. Please check with your local store before attending.” This would probably be a good idea in Canada, too.
