TMMN Jukebox

We'll admit it: We tend to get busy, and while we do constantly check our inbox for tips, we aren't always able to get to things as quickly as we would like. This includes fan-made projects, such as performances and fan renditions of Mega Man music. We still want to give this stuff a spot on the site, but making time to do individual posts for each one can be difficult, and so we present them all to you here in what we like to call our "TMMN Jukebox*."

First up is the Mega Man 2 medley of Heat Man and Metal Man's tunes, appropriately called "Hot Metal!" by Ferdk16, a VG rock cover guitarist, and Laura Shigihara, a professional composer best known for the soundtrack to Plants vs. Zombies. Thanks for the tip, Tony!

Next up is a remix of Charge Man's stage theme from Mega Man 5, which Fin Leavell says he recreated by ear. It appears as a bonus track on his EP, "Nightswim," which you can download for free here.

We'd like to embed this next one, but unfortunately, the streaming host at Electrodreams.net isn't working as of this writing.

Called "Sugar Sugar Marathon 20XX," this compilation features 13 covers spanning from the ten Classic Mega Man games, and features The Plasmas, Nesmetal, FantomenK, and more. You can check out their forum link here, and-- if Electrodreams.net starts working again-- download the album here.

Courtesy of a tip from Michael, we have "Only a Fantasy ~ What am I Fighting For!" as a "musically tuned lyrical song" meant to be a parody of "the (infamous) scene" from Mega Man X4 by YouTube user CompleteWorkZ.

As part of their "Christmas Calendar" of 24 new orchestrations leading up to Christmas Day, The Synthetic Orchestra's Blake Robinson presented this piece the day before the 25th anniversary of Mega Man. You can also check out the rest, featuring numerous other video game themes from titles such as Banjo-Kazooie, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Mario, and more on the calendar page here.

Vicsanmusic's "Interactive Rock Tribute" to Mega Man, which you can see above (click on a Robot Master for his track) may be a year old, but he recently announced that you can now download the full album here or here.

Thanks for the tip, MegamanXstream!

LennartAlsing shared with us this rock/metal (how appropriate) cover of "X vs. Zero" from Mega Man X5. You can check out his official website here.

Finally, we have this: A "cover playthrough" of Mega Man 3 which features the original music edited out and replaced by cover versions of the songs. You can get the whole soundtrack, Mega Man 3 Remade by RushJet1, here. Thanks for the tip, Allan!

Thanks again to everyone who sent us a tip, and we're sorry it took so long to post these!

* Not sure whether jukeboxes are really much of a thing any more, so for our younger readers: A jukebox was a machine which contained numerous songs by different artists which would play when you inserted a quarter, or whatever price the operator decided to jack it up to. But, much like any jukebox The Fonz chose to listen to, TMMN Jukebox requires no deposit on your part!
