A Look at the Neo Geo Pocket


No doubt, many of you are familiar with much of the vast array of handhelds and consoles on which the Blue Bomber has appeared. Those from Nintendo, SEGA, Sony, and even Microsoft.

And then, there’s the Neo Geo Pocket.

The Neo Geo Pocket is a device less familiar to most American fans than other machines made by the companies named above, though some may know of it only by virtue of it having played host to a few Mega Man-related titles of its own, including some SNK card battling games and an 8-bit version of Mega Man: The Power Battles and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters.

If you are such a person, and are interested in learning more, then look no further. As part of a long celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Game Boy, GameSpite has taken a look back at a device which, under the right circumstances, might have been able to hold its own against Nintendo’s juggernaut, but ultimately failed to become a major contender in the end.
