Mega Man? How About Mega Lan? (As in “Lanyard,” Not the Battle Network Kid)
Over on Capcom Unity, Brelston is showing you how to flash your credentials in style– by hanging them on this snazzy Mega Man lanyard, which fits around all but the fattest of necks (or heads)! They’re just $9.95 and ship from the Capcom Store in February if you order now!
But wait, there’s more! You not only get the classic 8-bit iconography of the Blue Bomber running, jumping, and sliding across this handsome neon green strap, but also a special Mega Man 25th Anniversary tag (see below) commemorating the years the Man has been Mega and telling all your friends and associates where you got it! So place your order now, and tell every convention this Summer where they can stuff their lanyards when you show up at the door!*
* The Mega Man Network will not be held responsible if you are summarily thrown out and/or banned from said conventions upon telling them where they can stuff their lanyards. Also, I feel so, so very dirty right now.

Looks great. Can’t wait to get mine.
honestly i am a person that dislikes capcom for the stuff they have been doing, but i actually really like this lanyard and think that it is a cool idea the only thing is i would rather it be like 5 or 6 bucks and to have been released a week but i am slowly understanding that they did do much that week cause SF casts a large shadow
Tie it in a Netto!
That sure is a neat lanyard.
Almost had me, but then I saw the $6.75 shipping. Haha, nope.
that’s a bit pricey for a lanyard, but it dosn’t look bad. Love that comment at the end though
Heh, thanks. For the record, that line is in reference to the sleazy used car salesman approach I took to writing this whole thing, not the product itself.
Honestly, I’m kinda surprised.
No, not that people have been good and haven’t made any snide comments about that tag ambiguously doubling as Megaman’s epitaph to carry near your heart for the rest of your life. ;p
I’m surprised they highlighted this, when they have yet to make any sort of announcement that We Are Rock-Men! 2 has been available at the Capcom Store for a little while now, without those pricey import fees. There’s hardly any music at the store anyhow, and it’s the only non-OST on there, yet it gets no love or pub. :/
Anywhoooo…not as creative as the 8-bit Street Fighter lanyard, but if they offer it for free with a shirt or some other future deal as they did with the SF one, then I’ll probably get it.
Call me ungrateful, but I’m beyond tired of the “slap an 8-bit sprite on it” approach. But if fans keep lapping it up, I guess Capcom doesn’t have much incentive to try anything else.
Megaman is more valuable as a retro icon than a legitimate current gen game character.
