Rockman.EXE: The Program of Light and Dark Fan Dub on the Way
We recently received word that an English fan dub of the Japanese animated movie, Rockman.EXE: The Program of Light and Dark, is underway. Headed up by Nat400, details are few except to say that the full movie is coming “soon.” In the meantime, you can view the teaser above.
Though Viz localized the first three seasons of the Rockman.EXE cartoon as MegaMan NT Warrior and MegaMan NT Warrior Axess, the subsequent seasons (Beast +, Beast, and Stream, which the film was tied into) never saw their way to this side of the ocean, while only the pre-Axess seasons were released on DVD. That said, it seems that the dubbers are following in the spirit of the voice casting for the NT Warrior series (including an older Lan), rather than the Japanese version.
For those unfamiliar with the premise of the film, it involves the return of Dr. Regal with a new threat to the online world, Nebula Gray. Joined by Raika and Chaud, Lan uses CrossFusion to infiltrate a Netopian military installation to put an end to the menace, only to find that neither he nor the newly-returned Bass aren’t strong enough to handle this alone.

Wow. I guess I’m not suprised my idea was stolen. Me and the people at Megamanonline worked on something like this for quite a while, but it never really started. I think Nat400 even showed up there for a while, but he always asked for strange things…..But I digress. I wish him and his team good luck.

A really good movie which you should definitely watch sometime, but in Japanese with fansubs, not in NT Warrior English.

I’m digging this at all. The voices are so bad. They don’t come close to Lan’s and his father’s voices. Someone please tell them not to make this.
I don’t mean to sound rude or cocky…
But I could honestly do a better job with this, every single character, females included, by myself, than this team is doing right now.
The only voices that sounded even decent were Bass and Dr. Hikari if he learned to put more emotion into his voice.
The rest are absolutely horrible. Especially Lan’s.
I also found it funny how there were random parts of the JP voices being left intact. The action sequence and Regal’s laugh being the two most obvious.
Umm… I’ll stick to the english subbed thank you! lol!
At first I was like “Hell yeah, English dubs! I dun wanna hear Bass sound like a 5-year-old!”
Then I watched the clip…yeah…no, I’d take 5-year-old Bass over the quality of this fandubs.
Give or take, it’s no better than how Viz’s casting turned out.
It’s not that bad actually, or at least until around 2:20 when Lan shouted…wtf is with that voice? And it’s not just the voice, the recording seems weird too.
I forget about this movie probably should go actually watch it because sadly this be the first time I’ve heard of it…
Still, bad is bad. XD
