Original Fan Mega Man Music to Liven Up Your Ears

Mega Man music rocks, and talented fans love to remix and arrange it. But sometimes you can only play with the same songs so much. That’s when you make your OWN Mega Man music. Why not?

Our pal Tony of Destructoid has been bringing us word of a couple new completely Mega Man themed fan soundtracks. First, we have a new Rokko Chan arranged album called Rokko Chan: Extended Play. If you forgot, Rokko Chan was a well made Mega Man inspired fan game that came out late last year, and caught a pretty devoted following. The new album is headed up by Dj Cutman and a bevvy of other artists.

Next up, Mega Man 11. No, really!

Sadly, this is not for a “real” Mega Man 11 in production or anything. It’s a conceptual album that imagines what songs for a Mega Man 11 could be like. They’re composed by Xavier Dang faithfully in 8-bit chiptune style – you can even get the soundtrack as an emulated NES music file! The 29 track album has also been supported by interested fans contributing artwork and the like to really help bring it alive.

As always, the fans come together and make the most awesome stuff. That’s what I love so much about this community!

    At least Capcom’s robot master ideas are better than this… Really? Whip woman? The music is pretty good though.

  2. Matthew says:

    I like the sound man idea and the surfman idea.

  3. Aaron says:

    Sound Man looks pretty cool but the rest…? That would be the worst RM roster by far.

    @Matthew

    top man, pump man, strike man? I wouldn’t say that the idea of “whip woman” is bad at all, but that the design isn’t all too well done.

    sound man seems to be popular… probably because he is the one most well done in the actual mega man style. He just seems like a pretty generic robot though. without a name, I’d be hard pressed to guess his name

    worm man doesn’t seem bad at all, though would be more interesting if his end would split into legs and when he was in worm form, his arms would dissappear. he could be in a earthy level, underground tunnels?

    card man though… isn’t that just magic man?

  5. Dezner says:

    omg Whip Woman totally hawt…DO WANT! :o

    But, wow! That soundtrack was great, I’ll definitely put some money towards it someday!

  6. Chris says:

    I’d say all but Hammer Man would work, he has elephant features, this isn’t the Mega Man X series. And Whip Woman… maybe if they cover her up more. Think about it, somewhere in that world they want robot who can assist with those fetishes.

  7. Heat Man says:

    @Chris: You seem to forget about characters like Snake Man, Toad Man, Centaur Man, etc… How is Hammer Man unfitting, but Worm Man fine?

    @Matthew
    SPRING MAN!!! (─‿‿─)

    Btw, I love the intro; “Wily is up to no good” *Title shows up*.
    That’s all we need. ( ̄ー ̄)

  9. Matt says:

    @Heat Man
    Because all those guys have human eyes or human-like eyes. Hammer Man has like these oddly realistic looking eyes that personally I think would only fit in Mega Man X.

    I’m kind of surprised that it took this long for the Megaman 11 Soundtrack Project took this long to get noticed as I thought it would have been picked up on a little sooner than now, but I digress. Anyway, I’ve been listening to this since I first picked this up last week and I couldn’t stop replaying it. The whole soundtrack is really good. As for the discussion on the Robot Master designs… to be honest, I think they are fine. I mean there still could be even worse ideas out there.

    As for the Rokko Chan soundtrack, it’s cool, but if you haven’t been keeping track, some of these tracks haven’t changed all that much from the first major Rokko Chan Original/Arranged soundtrack digital release from some time ago. The only differences are that three of these tracks have been exteneded from their originals (Bryface’s, Tanikugu’s, and Pocket Gravy’s tracks), one is just an extended loop (DJ Cutman’s track), with one completely new track (Rockman’s track). The other tracks are still the same since said first digital soundtrack release. All that being said, I’d still pick this up. The tracks are still a good listen; it’s just that aside from a few differences from a few tracks with one new one, it isn’t too different from the first set of Arranged tracks.

    Sound Man look awesome to me, but the rest, eh not so much. Nice effort though!

    Side note: Whip Woman reminds me of a Team Rocket female grunt.

    Side note 2: I love Rokko Chan! Not only is it an amazing fangame, it has an amazing soundtrack! XD

    I find it sad, that on the entire rokko chan extended play album, jet man’s music is the only one I find enjoyable. most of the others songs are just annoying to me.

    and they ruined the feel of the track “Mad Machine”
