Some D-Arts Mega Man Official Images
Posted on September 3rd, 2012 by Heat Man

Following Bluefin’s announcement a short while earlier, here are some official promotional pics of D-Arts Mega Man. These give us more of an idea of the detail and other features (different faces and shot effects), as well as a better look at Mega Man’s companions.

THIS is how you celebrate 25 years of defending peace and being thousands of gamer’s childhood hero.
BANDAI!! TAKE ALL MY MONEY!!
(i wonder if rush will be able to transform at some point…)
Also, I wonder if the Metool can be smushed into it’s hat…That would be the ultimate posability…
That’s the same buster shot piece as the Mega Man X model!
Classic Mega Man = X confirmed!
Gileum: Funny; a lot of people have disagreed, simply because there isn’t much in the way of a new game announced.
Now THAT is a better looking pose than the initial shots. His shoulders don’t seem awkward now! XD
This is the best as he’ll look, because once you get them, it won’t be like these photos, you’ll be getting paint errors, and defulty joints.
But I have to admit, he does look better in these pictures, yup yup, like those threads can’t be seen, but I know theyre there. But this confirms to those who just keep on asking if Megaman and Rush comes with parts and such, your answer… NOPE! But I admit too that I was hoping to have a alternative head for Megaman with hair and no helmet on. That would of been cool.
Okay yep. Sold. SOLD. F***in’ SOLD, Bandai. You got me.
As much as I would’ve loooooved Helmetless Rock on display, this’ll be just fine. The quality looks amazing. He’ll look great next to my Rockman 8 model kit from back in the day…
Err… forget about the alternative head with hair for Mega, as its NOT included, just read their comment on stupid facebook, which it doesn’t say that a charged shot effect part will be included? So no charged shot effect??? If so, that SUCKS!
Rush looks awesome, if they sell a box with Rush, Beat, Tango and 3 or 4 Metall, I will buy it with my eyes closed!.
Well, there’s my late Christmas present…
If the figure goes well in the final product, then… =D
That looks pretty neat! I really like that Rush!
So…Mega Man doesn’t get a charge shot? Well, what do you expect? Mega Man forgot how to use his charge shot, remember?
Maybe it feels nitpicky but the face is also off in my opinion.
i hate to say this but i hate the smiling face…
Don’t think I’ll be able to pre-order it, but I’ll definitely try to grab it once it’s available here.
The looks of the sculpt gives me hope that a Hitoshi Ariga version of Rock will be released…
Is this better than the Kotobukiya model kit?
@Durendal: I wouldn’t say it’s out of the question, seeing as X got a manga version. Might be a limited release, though.
Maximum want.
They should make the megaman zero model kit too, the kotobuyika vercion has a big head xD
I like this Classic Megaman figure better than the Megaman X one (both normal and armored)… but the Zero v2 figure is still my favorite of them all
@forpeace: Well, that’s a matter of opinion, but I can tell you that they’re definitely quite different. For starters, this is an already assembled figure, and not a model kit like the Kotobukiya Mega Man. It’s also on a completely different scale. The Kotobukiya model kits were on quite a big scale, but this Mega Man is in the same scale as the MMX D-Arts figures, it seems. And finally, the Kotobukiya Mega Man is more modeled after how Mega Man looked in Mega Man 3-6, 9, and 10, while this D-Arts one is more akin to Mega Man 7 and 8.
This certainly isn’t a deal breaker for me, but I would’ve liked to see them make a fresh buster shot for this figure, something that better captured the classic pew-pew. I’m okay without a charger shot though, those upgrades came later and this is a celebration for the 1st game.
Besides, those weighty charge shots are hard to utilize in a purely display way, and we’re getting Rush and Metall instead!
I am curious though, if he’ll be made to scale? I always assumed ol’ Mega was more of a pre-teen compared to X’s more adult build. Normally I’d throw my vote behind scale, but since these figures are already a bit on the dainty side, I kinda hope not. At least not too much…
@ Heat Man
I don’t see it happening anytime soon, only because the MMX Manga ver was only a faceswap with different colours (and the broken buster) whereas Ariga’s Mega Man design differs quite a bit from the “classic” look in terms of having to tool new parts.
I wouldn’t mind seeing one, but its unlikely.
Lookin’ better and better! Main thing is that I hope he’s shorter than Mega Man X. He looks like it, but of course we can’t tell until they’re side-by-side.
…not that I’m gona skip him if he isn’t shorter. Totally gettin’ that no matter what.

Yeah, I agree. The eyes look funny to me. I find that humorous because it’s only paint. How easy it would be to fix!
This will be a wonderful set for those who don’t own the Kotobukiya kit or are dying for Rush & Metall. I’m wondering if Rush would look nice with the Kotobukiya Rockman? Likely too small.

The new head size pretty much fixed any proportion problems. But the face looks goofy and very similar to those Jazwares figures.
*Patiently waiting for Protoman*
*Patiently waits for VAVA’s delayed arrival at my doorstep. Honking hurricane isaac!*
Well now… looks pretty awesome! ^.^
Sweet!
@Omar: I don’t think you remember those Jazwares figures very well, then. I’m looking RIGHT AT my Jazwares figures, and this looks a million times better than those…
@ Clown Prince
I should have been specific, sorry. I’m referring to the goofy looking MegaMan from the Retro Roto line of figures.

I think the big problem here is a lack of interpretation from the original artwork by Inafune, of which these figures are based on. The problem I have, which is an opinion, is that they’re not an honest rendition of Inafune’s Mega Man. The nose, mouth, and chin are all way off. They lack character too. This is a cartoonish character, after all.. so where is the character, the personality?
Kotobukiya’s Mega Man is based more on the generic anime-style Mega Man from 9 and 10. It looks good, it looks the part of that kind of Mega Man.
D-Arts’ is just off… and certainly not worth my $40+.
I hope we get a regular rock figure too, I wonder if that even exists anywhere. It’d be neat, because like X and full armor X, you could swap heads to have helmetless mega man!
Honestly, the D-Arts Mega Man looks a lot like Mega Man from Mega Man 8.
Which, honestly, I don’t have a problem with. This is a very nice looking figure and I LOVE the detail of the lines around the eyes. It gives it a hint of Inafune IMO.
I like having some variety in how Mega Man turns out in toys and as long as there’s a general quality (some early Jazwares did NOT) I don’t mind some shifting tones and styles.
palette shot again?! I alreadi hav 2 of those…
should i get considering i have normel first armour X zero version one and two and vile since i favour the X series more :3
Scale pics or GTFO
Up for pre-order on Japanese figure selling sites like AmiAmi and Hobby Link Japan. Most of my D-Arts are Japanese versions so I’m just gonna stick with the trend.
I think it’s not worth buyin for 1 they stop making x series like y’all seriously not goin to make axl that just brought a down fall to me guess I gotta get jazwares ugly axl toy hope in the future y’all deside
I really wish they would have stuck with the X series, mainly because I still think a D Arts Sigma needs to be made to give the line more bad guys for X and Zero to fight against.
Also, I would LOVE to see an Ultimate Armor or 4th Armor (or both!
) variant of X, just so i can swap the different armor pieces with the original X to recreate those moments in-game when you acquire each new armor piece. And since the Ultimate Armor is such a recurring armor in the later games you think naturally they would make a D Arts version figure (considering nearly all the Ultimate Armor figures to date pretty much suck)
The day they make an Ultimate Armor figure I’ll probably buy like 5. But as for the classic version, I’m gonna have to say I’m probably going to pass on picking one up.
