Showing Ninetails Who’s Boss

Gonna be honest – I never got into Mega Man X Command Mission, or many RPGs in general. So, when Sigma Zero X wrote in, saying this was a sleek way of defeating the game’s special boss Ninetails, I kind of had to take his word for it. And hey, we don’t often get a chance to feature Command Mission content.

From what I can fathom, by smartly using sub items, Sigma Zero X is able to beat Ninetails strategically – not with spamming hyper modes and attacking with brute force. Perhaps to those of you who have played more Command Mission, it’ll come off as pretty impressive. Sigma Zero X has more videos against the other iterations of Ninetails you can see on his channel.

  1. Nice! I don’t think I ever got past any tails, or X’s Ultimate Armor, for that matter.

Ah, Command Mission was fun… I still wish they’d have explored the world we knew, rather than creating a new setting for it, though. Kind of feels like a lost opportunity as a result, since I doubt we’re seeing another in any sort of hurry.

Thanks for putting up the story I sent to you a few minutes ago. However, you only showed the Ninetails link. To be honest, I already posted it on several forums a year ago, but at least others can see this video for themselves.

My original intention was to promote that it is possible to do it on most of the Tails Clan, with Ninetails being the main purpose. However, Fivetails is the exception due to Self-Destruct spam and unpredictability.

That said, here are the rest of the direct links for Onetails to Eighhtails:

If these direct links are not working, please let me know. Oh, if any admin is reading this, can you embed the Sixtails, Seventails, and/or Eighttails links as part of the extension to this article. Thanks.

    . __ .

My god. . . The fact that he beat him so quickly was amazing enough. . . How he did it was even more astonishing. I applaud him for being so good.

  4. RayZX says:

lol. massimo was hiding some special talent eh? lol i actually hate him because he misses alot

i remember my 1st play of this game, once i got X,Zero and Axl… i didnt ever change characters anymore…

lol and i finished it :D

but not the tails they’re so hard XD

  5. rockmace says:

It is indeed another way to defeat it, one that requires a lot of other effort (like, getting those force metals) and spending top items, like unlock limiters. It is fun and awesome to watch but I would feel uneasy wasting so much resources on just one boss.
    I prefer spending reneweable stuff.

  6. NovaManXP says:

I loved this game, I really need to play it again someday.

  7. ZigTheHunter says:

Glad this game is getting some coverage here, very underrated and gets too much unfair hate just for being a departure from the series. I love this game, simple, but fun, and kickass music as well, always gets me pumped.

Anyways the Video was damn impressive, very untraditional way of going about it; I like seeing stuff like that. Props to him.

@rockmace I feel similar, but there isn’t anything after Ninetails really so its not much of a waste, plus I feel weird when I beat a game with so much surplus of power up items that I didn’t even use. It does feel kinda good that I didn’t need them though, but that just makes me wish the game was harder to where I would need them.

  8. MegaSeveN says:

I liked this game for the most part but I think I just wasn’t in an RPG mood when it came out.

I only got a few bosses in before I couldn’t bother to play it anymore. I was just renting it though.

  9. Okami Delta says:

This is one of my favourite RPGs, I would honestly get a PS2 or get a gamecube version, but what do you guys think?

  10. SamuraiLloyd says:

That was a pretty interesting way of dealing with Ninetails, not too shabby.

Mega Man X Command Mission was such a good game and one of my favorite Gamecube games.

  11. Okami: Both, for the right price, if you’re a collector. GameCube connects to the GBA to find extra trophies, while PS2 has an X8 demo which differs a little bit from the final version.

That notwithstanding? I’d say GameCube; it loads faster, if memory serves.

  12. Nice. Fivetails was kind of easy pickings since two of them blow up and leave behind a semi-hard clone.

    …..that came out so wrong.

  13. Rock-X says:

@LBD Nyte: Not only that it loads faster, but there is a slightly higher rate of enemy encounters, which can be either good or bad depending who you ask.

  14. thegolfcourse says:

That was fun. With free resources and a lot of time, I would consider doing the same.

Command Mission…is something worthy of a sequel. I agree with the idea that it would be nice to set a CM game in the “world” of Mega Man X and not a foreign one. Though to be fair, the world of Mega Man X isn’t that strictly defined anyway. And, it doesn’t seem likely a CM2 could take place in the same world as CM.

  15. Tayo says:

Mega Man X Command Mission is what got me into turn-based RPGs. This game is so fun! YOU MUST PLAY IT, EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT INTO RPGS. Anywho, what a brilliant strategy. It’s very fun and any Mega Man fan will love it. You just got to find your own strategy that works. But man, one hit was all? If you don’t realize, Nine Tails is the toughest guy in the game, and a true monster. That Annihilator Hadoken can sometimes take out everyone in your entire party, and he heals every turn.

  16. RedrazerZero says:

    @thegolfcourse
Disregard this comment if by “world” you mean to describe the surroundings that exist in the main games and are not seen in CM, but they both are the same literal world… It just takes place at a different time (like all other games in the series) and on an island called Giga City…

  17. Soaring Buster says:

I muttered to myself “If he’s going to show the world the might of the oil can I am going to laaaaugh.” What I didn’t expect was the Unlock Limiters, since they are the one thing I never bothered with. Do they require a stat be boost-maxed prior to being applied?

  18. Devasia Mentality says:

This is why I can’t get into most RPGs: to get the most out of them you have to make good use of the mass number of items at your disposal… and quite frankly I can’t be bothered. If I can’t just powerhouse my way through a game I’m not interested.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good game, I just can’t be assed with strategy.

  19. Accel says:

Wow, Massimo proved to be useful after all! I never did get past the Onetail :<

  20. Worenx says:

    Oh my god.

That is all I can say. I can brute force this jack-hole, but it takes me like 10 minutes! I commend you, sir. :D

I REALLY need to replay this game.
