Vote Dr. Wily in Nintendo Power’s Latest Poll
You know the drill, folks: Nintendo Power magazine has posted their newest online poll, and as ever, Mega Man is being kept in the spotlight by being included among some of the poll options. In fact, there is one question solely dedicated to our hero!
Blue Bomber-related questions include “Which antagonist most deserves to be in a starring role?”, which features Dr. Wily as an option against formidable competition (we’re betting Fawful takes the win). Another asks “What is the coolest weapon from Mega Man 1?” We said “Thunder Beam,” because the enemy of the Yellow Devil is definitely our friend.
And of course, there are plenty of other fun questions to vote on, so be sure to check it out! The results will be included in volume 277 of Nintendo Power.

I don’t exactly see how a Wily game would work, but I still voted for him, I would have voted Wesker but, he kinda already was the star of Umbrella Chronicle. And I picked thunder beam without even thinking about Yellow Devil, its just a cool weapon, plus I love Electric/lightning moves.

Oh, that’s hard. Dr. Wily vs Team Rocket . . .
Then again, I’d always wanted a more sympathetic, tragic take on Dr. Wily. Make him clearly a megalomaniac, but then set him up to be blamed for something that pushes even his line of morality.
You know, make him aware that he indirectly causes the extinction of mankind. Think about it.
It could be interresting to make aware Doctor Wily that he will nearly cause the end of mankind in Zero Serie.
VBut maybe Wily would not care. Having a characters coming back in time to inform Wily (even indirectely), would be good plot for a reboot.
But you wouldn’t play as Wily. Unless it is Sonic Adventure 2 style, where you could play as Eggman, Shadow AND rouge.
Megaman Adventure, whre you play as Megaman, Roll and Light VS Bass, Enker and Wily.

I definitely want a game like that as well. Or at least a prequel to Mega Man 1. I definitely think that would resurrect Mega Man’s career.
@CnCBoy I didn’t think of SA2 style, that could work well.
@TTL the reason Wily went bad was because Light always got the spotlight and Wily was just shoved aside and given no respect even though he helped build the initial robots, I don’t know if that was ever in any official Megaman stories(though the fan film did a good job of it), regardless it seems logical enough to have had happened.

Much as I loves Albert, I had to go with Fawful. Give us a game where Dr. Wily shows as much personality as Fawful did in the two games he was majorly featured in, and I’ll reconsider.
First of all, when it comes to villains who deserve starring roles, the ONLY reason Dr. Wily stands a chance against Bowser is that Bowser already has one.
Secondly, they need an “other” option, because the obvious choice isn’t even there: Teisel Bonne!

Yeah, I really like that angle. It’s pretty apparent in the first episode of the Mega Man cartoon when Dr. Wily’s work is scrapped without as much as a test to see what went wrong.
Sure, the show does absolutely nothing with this motivation later on and casts him as the atypical “evil” character, but the foundation is interesting.
