Rockman 4 Dated for Japan Virtual Console

We’d recently heard that Rockman 4 was coming to the Wii’s Virtual Console in Japan in February. And now we have a specific day to that month, the 9th, as revealed by Nintendo. Wait, that’s just next week! In that case, hopefully we will be hearing about Mega Man 4′s release in North America and Europe very soon.

  1. i wish that would come out for XBL
best mega man game ever D:

Seeing that Mega Man 4 was a bit stale in the series, I still liked it for the reason that we get to fight Dr. Cossack first, then Dr. Wily. Plus the weapons were pretty interesting, if not also a few references to 2 and 3.

Sadly, Mega Man 5 was absolutely horrible. All the weapons, with the exception of Crystal Eye, were next to, if not also, beyond useless.

Still, I’d get it, and the rest of the series, though I’m pretty unsure if Nintendo will allow the release of Mega Man 8, seeing as it was on the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. However, I’d love to see Mega Man X on the Virtual Console.

  3. WHAAAAT? How was 5 horrible?
    5 was so good!
If any of them were horrible it would be 8 :B

  4. Blue Bombers cousin says:

I dont see why people complain about the weapons as i just use the Mega Buster anyways (until da bossies of course)

  5. Daniel Lind says:

Blue Bombers, well for instance you absolutely HAD to use master weapons in MM4 to get through the level unharmed – enemy placement was pretty challenging at times. And Shadowman’s blade weapon in MM3 as well as infamous Metal Man’s weapon in MM2 (and now that I think about it, Storm Eagle’s in MMX1) was making respective games so much easier than just doing it with default buster.

  6. haha you dont HAVE to use the weapons in MM4 thats why theres charge shot ;)

  7. Doctor Andy says:

Whaaaaaaaat!? None of these games are horrible, I’d take them over Call of duty any day.

    :O O: :O

  8. Matthew says:

i agree with doctor andy! There all good! And with 5, the weapons are good to, you just have to get good at using them, like the charge kick and the gyro cutter, napalm bomb, crystal eye, ect. only really crappy weapon in it was that one that you get from stoneman, because its kinda hard to use.

  9. PStart says:

But Power Stone may also be the BEST weapon because it spawned an awesome game series!

Gotta say, I love all the main classic MegaMan games a lot. None of em to me seem ‘short’ of anything to me (cept maybe 8′s music lol). I’m glad 4′s hittin VC, and hope to see 5-6 pop up soon!

    Then 7,8 and X : )

I wish the Mega Man games were on XBox LIVE. Heck, I’m still mad that Capcom took Mega Man games on the unsuccesful PSP…and ported them to the unsuccessful PS3. lol

  11. MaddogExplosive says:

I can’t remember why anymore, but Mega Man 4 is the Mega Man game I played the most as a kid. I think it was probably just the second one we owned after the original. I loved it, even though I was too young to have the smarts/skill to beat it. Out of all the NES Mega Mans, I’d say 5 is probably the worst, but MM6 is the easiest. I give MM6 the nod over MM5 just for trying out new things.

The PSN Mega Man games are still PSP-only. They are merely there for those who prefer digital downloads over physical media.

Also, neither the PSP nor the PS3 is unsuccessful.

  13. what do people have against 5? are you kidding me?

  14. Doctor Andy says:

@PStart Megaman 8 had it’s drawbacks, but you had to love the groovy basslines the soundtrack had to offer

Have any of you guys ever heard of megaman anniversary collection and megaman x collection? Both are available on the gamecube and playstation 2. And they include all the games you guys mentioned and then some. If you already have both of these games then I don’t see the point of wanting megaman 4,5,6,X1,X2,X3 on the virtual console. They’re the same games available on the collections aren’t they? It’s the same thing over on gamefaqs. Everyone there is complaining about not having sonic&knuckles on the virtual console. Yet sonic mega collection (which has been available for gamecube since 2002) includes S&K plus 9 other games! I don’t get it. Did everyone forget that the wii can play gamecube games?

  16. GeminiSaint says:

    @ bryon:

The GCN version of Mega Man Anniversary Collection has some problems, though:

    1) The jump and shoot buttons are reversed (annoying!)
    2) A big part of the ending in Mega Man 7 was cut out (unacceptable!)
    3) The versions of MM1-6 in there aren’t the original NES games, but ports of the PS1 “Rockman Complete Works” re-releases, which have minor differences, like a different set of bugs/glitches, slightly different sound behavior, and other stuff. They just aren’t the proper NES games.

    @byron

Also, The Mega Man Collection games were only released in North America, some of us have no choice but to get these downloads.
