In the “We all knew it was coming” news department, online retailer Shinseido has shown credence to the existence of the Rockman 10 Original Soundtrack. The single disc album is planned to release March 23rd for ¥2500 (roughly $27.49 US). Last time, the Rockman 9 Original Soundtrack came out a good couple weeks before Rockman 9 actually released, so this album may be releasing closer to Rockman 10’s intended date.
Still no word yet on a Rockman 10 Arranged Soundtrack, but I wouldn’t count that out either.
UPDATE: Capcom’s Rockman 10 page has some new info. The soundtrack will be a total of 46 tracks, and will come with a 12 page full color booklet. Furthermore, they are also announcing the Inti Bonus Disc Vol. 1. The disc will contain an arranged version of Rockman 10’s title theme, a chiptune arrangement of Rockman 10’s highway stage (Nitro Man), and a “non stop remix” of the eight boss stages from Rockman 9. There will be a total of 13 tracks. This album will also go on sale in March. Below is a partial track list of the RM10 OST:
01 USUAL DAY
02 FUTURE WORLD
03 SUSPICION
04 GO TOGETHER
05 TITLE
06 MENU
07 STAGE SELECT
08 GAME START
09 KING OF BLADES ( BLADE MAN STAGE )
10 POLLUTED PUMP ( PUMP MAN STAGE )
11 DESERT COMMANDO ( COMMANDO MAN STAGE )
12 ABSOLUTE CHILL ( CHILL MAN STAGE )
13 CYBERSHEEP’S DREAM ( SHEEP MAN STAGE )
14 FIREBALL STRIKE ( STRIKE MAN STAGE )
15 NITRO SPIRIT ( NITRO MAN STAGE )
16 SOLAR INFERNO ( SOLAR MAN STAGE )

Does it come with a KFC coupon?
Will they make a better AST?
@Doctor Andy
Are you kidding? 9’s AST was amazing! Jewel Temptation all the way, baby!
@Gurp
By “better” I think he meant more true to the original tunes, a la RTRZ. And I kind of agree with him. If anything, they should include those songs in a remixed soundtrack album or something alike.
@News
Aw, I was expecting some music samples.
That cover is all kinds of badass.
@ Heat Man
Definitely, blows 9’s out of the water. Then again, all 9’s was really doing was just illustrating what the game was about- 8-bit Mega Man all over again.
‘Inti Bonus Disc vol1′ is an e-Capcom bonus, not a separate item (not at the moment, at least).
Can’t waitt!!
And honestly, they screwed up with the MM9 AST. What they fail to realize is that people want similar, if not identical, arrangements of the songs from the OST, only using real instruments and better (or should I say non-8bit) synthesizers. They went off a little “interpretive” with the MM9 AST and alot of the tracks had a completely different feeling and vibe from the originals. But at least Ippo Yamada kind of warned about that beforehand, as to not make you completely disappointed.
Maze of Death and We’re The Robots were probably the best 2 tracks on the MM9 AST. We’re The Robots sounded like it was straight out of a next gen MMX game.
The drawing contest layout tells me the game will be released well before the OST is released, not afterward, unless Capcom plans on spoiling what apparently is plot/game related- notice that one of the contest subjects is filled with question marks, which should tell people that they’ll be drawing something they’re not going to know about until they play the game, or Capcom reveals it. This day also happens to be a Monday, a day WiiWare games are released, and the first day that people would be able to see this hidden character for themselves (provided Capcom doesn’t spill it first.)
Wait, I think that fact is already obvious to everyone- disregard what I previously said >__>
@Gurp The Megaman 9 AST was really good in it’s own respect, but some of the tunes were just too warped for me. Nonetheless the whole soundtrack made it on my Zune.
The only tracks I liked form MM9’s arranged, were Flash in the Dark, Magma, Hornet, and Strange World… the rest sounded NOTHING like the real music.
Mega Man music only sounds good in rock and jazz
The MM9 AST reminded me kinda of that Alph Lyla MMX AST, where it barely even resembles the original songs. I hope, as some have already, that the MM10 AST is more like the Complete Works arranged songs (that is, more true to the originals).
Though I have interest of purchasing this soundtrack but it the list seems a little shorter than it’s last title. Also track #2; FUTURE WORLD seems very suspcious to me. . .it could mean something ya know.
46 tracks in total?
Arranged tracks are probably already included, I bet.

I don’t think so. It’s called the “original soundtrack” for a reason, and Capcom has no reason to include arranged tracks when they could make more money by releasing an AST. The fact that there’s 46 tracks gives me a whole lot of hope that Mega Man 10 is a longer, meatier game than Mega Man 9, more in the vein of Mega Man 4-6 than 2. I’m holding fast to the hope that this is the case.
To this point, I’ve been disappointed in the expectation that Mega Man 10 would be nothing more than a redux of Mega Man 9, simplified mechanics and much shorter game length included. But Capcom already satiated their hard-on for Mega Man 2 with 9, so I’m really really hoping Capcom takes the opportunity to push the boundaries with Mega Man 10 and make it a bigger, more unique experience than just another Mega Man 2 redux.
The cover art for the Rockman 10 OST helps support my hopes too. The cover art for the Rockman 9 OST was little more than a giant 8-bit Mega Man sprite laid on top of a bunch of smaller 8-bit Mega Man sprites which, like pretty much all Mega Man 9-related media, just advertised the fact that Mega Man 9 was bringing things back to basics and a retro aesthetic. Mega Man 9 seemed to be mostly (or only) about that: bringing things back to basics, making another Mega Man 2. For that reason, Mega Man 9 didn’t really have its own identity.
But with the Rockman 10 OST, you see a giant Mega Man and Proto Man standing above planet Earth with space as a backdrop, which immediately calls to mind the game’s subtitle, “Threat from Outer Space.” Again, this gives me hope that Capcom is really trying to make a NEW Mega Man game this time around, one with its own identity — an identity apart from another remake of Mega Man 2, which is overrated anyway IMO.
Of course, I could just be overthinking things, and Mega Man 10 will have the same skeleton as Mega Man 9, re-skinned with new stages, music, cutscenes, and Robot Masters. I really hope not, though.
hmm interesting, I wonder if there will be a soundtrack arrange…
The cover shows more Doctor Who love than Megaman love… so we know what show they watched while designing it:
