Identifying Mega Man 10′s new Robot Masters
With the new Mega Man 10 trailer we’ve now seen sprite silhouettes of the eight new Robot Masters. So then, it’s time to get speculatin’! Of course, we already have positive IDs on two of the new Robot Masters thanks to Nintendo Power. These are Sheep Man and Commando Man.
But how about the rest of the guys? Here’s where the fun begins.
This guy is the boss of the stadium stage, though if I didn’t know any better I’d say he’s Air Man. He seems built like a football player, though his stage is designed more around baseball and soccer. I really like the locker doors that flip open and shoot down at you. For now I’m going to say this is Sports Man, though given the embarrassing names Robot Masters sometimes have, maybe Ball Man.
Boss of the sewer stage. His head seems to have a bulge and them some kind of little tail, almost like a slug or something. However, the image here seems to imply a blue color scheme, so that moves me away from saying Slug Man or Snail Man. He could possibly be Poison Man or Toxic Man, though having a pipe-centric stage as well, perhaps Pipe Man or Plumbing Man.
Not really sure what to say about this guy. It’s a little hard to say what his stage is, some kind of city district or maybe a truck depot. He also seems rather small and nondescript. It kind of looks like he’s wearing a bandanna or a backwards cap, but that also could just be an antenna. Still I’m stumped. Splashman says he’s probably Road Man. I’d guess something like that, or Drive Man or Truck Man.
Well your typical fire stage. Blaze Man, Flare Man, Lava Man and the like are all fair game. Though I’ll admit, with the conveyor belts and stuff in this stage I get kind of an industrial vibe on top of the typical hot stage with lava pools. So it’d be interesting to see something like Steel Man, perhaps. It’s hard to tell what’s going on with his head.
And the typical ice stage. The silhouette doesn’t lend too much detail either. He looks a little like Jewel Man, maybe with a big ice shard for headgear instead. So, Snow Man? Chill Man? Tundra Man?
Wow, is that a big sword you’ve got or are you just happy to kill me? I want to say Blade Man or Knife Man with this guy. Splashman feels this castle stage seems Japanese themed so he’s betting on Katana Man. Personally I think the stage seems more Russian or Arabic, but then I’m not terribly cultural either.
So, what do you guys think? Let’s hear your speculations!

Guy with the sword? I’m thinking maybe Samurai Man or Daimyo Man.
The sports theme RM might be the Classic version of FootMan/GridMan from “BN5″. As for the others, I’m going to say SludgeMan, SemiMan, VolcanoMan, GlacierMan, and I have to agree on KatanaMan.

I don’t feel too bad about there being no female RM this time. However, it does sort of make Splash Woman seem more like a gimmick, which is unfortunate.

I disagree, Heats. I’d say if they immediately moved over to a Fem-Bot in the lineup of each game thereafter it’d be seen even more so as a gimmick.
Just like Zero dying, you have to space it out, or nobody will give a damn anymore. (Enough time was given to make Zero 4 dramatic and fitting.)

I don’t care how the graphics look I will always welcome a new Mega Man game. Plus most of the classic series’ better games were in 8-bit. Sorry but 7 and 8, while very fun, were not nearly as awesome as 2-4. 16 bit was always the realm commanded by the X-Series…at least to me.
Maybe the 3rd one is Baseball or Football man……
and the Fire one…… his head looks like a volcano….. so I’d have to say Vulcan or Volcano man.
the stadium guy I feel is Gridman from MMBN5, used by Mr.Famous
The last guy strikes me as Axeman just because of all the axe like enemys in him stage. Just some food for thought.
Does anyone else notice that at least half of these guys look very bulky and stocky (similar to robot masters like Air Man, Needle Man, Toad Man, etc.)?
I’m quite excited about this game. Sheep Man and Commando Man aside, here are my guesses:
Slice Man could be this guy’s name.
3) Hmm…. Active Man or Quarterback Man.
4) I think this one will be called Sewer Man
5) Motor Man maybe?
6) due to the firey nature of the level, I reckon Inferno Man, but the industrial look with the conveyor belts makes me think Foundary Man
7) I’m gonna go with Arctic Man
Actually, the more I look at it, the more the boss of the sewer stage’s head seems to look like one of those hand crank water pumps. So maybe Faucet Man? Hydrant Man?

I’m pretty convinced it’s Furnace Man. Just look at his head, and the stage.
Granted, Heat Man’s already got one, but this one’s a BIG DAMN industrial hi-efficiency steel mill furnace, not just a little baking oven made of bricks…

The sword boss robot seems to have a really cool design. EdgeMan sounds cool, and that was the first name that came to mind. Also, Edge was the nickname for a character in Rival Schools who had tall hair resembling this boss robots helmet and had a purple outfit to match.
The sports boss robot appears to have a baseball glove on his left hand, but his shape makes me think of a stadium. Going with the baseball idea, I’d guess StrikeMan (I would have done PitchMan but that was in the EXE anime already…), which sounds really cool while still relatable to sports.
Sewer robot master looks interesting but I have no clue what it could possibly be.
The fire and ice boss robots don’t seem to have a lot outstanding features to me. Same for the vehicle boss robot. DriveMan sounds like a cool name though.
SheepMan’s stage is ever so loosely connected to his concept it’s not even funny.
Also, the vehicle boss robots stage is a highway. The Mega Man 10 site lists a few of the stages, like “old castle.” Speaking of which, that stage has really cool music based on the bit you hear at the end of the trailer where it advertises Easy Mode.

The way his chest sticks out makes me think that Toilet Man is a real possibility… And that means that the “slug-esque” design on his head could be… *shudder*

Toilet Man was one of the joke bosses I designed YEARS ago under the concept “Rejected and Inappropriate Mega Man Robot Masters”. Among them were Toilet Man, Drug Man, and Rude Man (There were others but I don’t remember them all).
(Incase you were wondering, if I recall, Rude Man was proficient at flipping people the Bird!)…lol.

You guys keep saying road man but hes got a city themed stage and I think a bandana. I would go with PunkMan, ThiefMan, something along those lines.
Punkman sounds good in my head but I know that a megaman killer bot is already called Punk.
No one pointed out the almost obvious catcher’s mitt shape of the sport robot’s right arm? I can see it being named StrikeMan.
Also, the part poking out of the highway boss looks to me like an exhaust pipe. Despite there being a SheepMan I don’t think the developers would be so pathetic to use a name like Road or Truck, so… I’m going with DieselMan.
I also think the ice-themed one will be related to Diamonds, given the head shape.
