Get Ready to Make Your Voices Heard for Legends 3
It’s on.
Well, not just yet, but it will be soon.
For years now, fans of the Blue Bomber of the far-flung future have wanted to know just how they can make it perfectly clear to the suits at Capcom that yes, we do want a MegaMan Legends 3. And just a few hours ago, Capcom Community Manager Seth Killian responded to such an inquiry on the Capcom*Unity forums, stating that “Actually, we’re working on a way for you to be able to do just such a thing, and hope to have the new Unity feature available soon-ish.”
“The bad news,” he adds, “is that you’ll have to compete with the Powerstone 3 and RE: Outbreak psychos for attention!
”
“Seriously though,” he continues, “I know that having such a clear outlet is important, and we’re working on even more direct ways for you to let your voice be heard internally here at Capcom.”
So there you have it; you can stop trying to register domain names and put down your petitions; hopefully Capcom won’t keep us in too much suspense at the new Unity addition.
Naturally, we will keep you informed of anything we hear on the situation, and let you know when it is time for fans of Diggers, air pirates, and the like to rally together as one and make our voices heard.

*puts down the pitchfork…for now*
So it begins…a battle to see who will get the next title from capcom and only the loyal fan base can be the swaying factor…well may swords clash, mega busters fire and childish insults be UNLEASHED!
ARGHH LETS DO IT!!!!!
WE all better work together and get as much support as possible lets GO guys!!!( when it comes out)
So down.
What about my goddamn Megaman X9!
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR
So it all comes down to a head-to-head… I guess that’s what business is all about! Why did I even bother – LET’S DO IT! Blade Arm in hand, OC’d Buster in the other.
Anyone else thought of mobilising the Legends Station? That’s the beehive for all things DASH: http://www.legends-station.com/
Gah! Torn… between promise of Power Stone 3… Megaman X9… Legends 3….
…*shuts down*
Yeah seriously, forget Legends, use this to get X9. The Legends games are incredibly overrated.
@some guy
I agree with this.
Seriously, the DASH games really weren’t that fantastic. When controlling Rockman, I felt like I was controlling a Gundam, only limited to the ground with mediocre jumping ability. At least Tron ni Kobun had an excuse for these sorts of controls.
I’d honestly say Megaman Battle Network 4 was better than Legends 2. :/
Oh, and let me equip myself with Skull Barrier before I get flamed by the Legends fans that seem to occupy the site rather thoroughly.
So you guys were right…The Legends hatebase will arise as soon as it gets more publicity…
Honestly IMO, as MUCH as i love X, The Last TWO X games were Fail.(Do ANY1 disagree?) Besides Legends left off on a HUUGE cliffhanger, and it deserves to be finished.
Keiji even said it was his favorite, I think all the hype is needed.
It’s the least continued MM series and people are getting mad because we want a 3???
People fail to realize X got a sequel in 2004/5, Legends hasn’t had an Official sequel since 2000.
@Kkdog44
“Hatebase”? Really? I’m a hater for expressing my honest opinion that Legends wasn’t good enough for a third game?
@Fishman
If u feel i was referring to u as a hater, Then clearly u misread my post and to some extent, It must be true because you replied to me as if i was directly talking to you.
I was saying it as a prediction.
The capcom unity had many negative responses.
“Powerstone 3 and RE: Outbreak psychos” are the biggest obstacle here…? No way. I say that the TRUE war is actually going to be between the Legends and X fans…as it always has been.
As shown above, it has already begun.
I think the X fans need to shut up and learn about other things they considered. The classic already got their 9, which was the sequel to 8 for waiting 11 years, while you X fans got your X8 in 2004/5, which is 4-5 years. Legends need to comeout from obscurity to get someone new in the mainstream, and need the sequel since the fnas been waiting for it for 9 years.
… Legends finally comes out near 2012, but I’d rather seek my intrest in a mario & sonic game, Legends has gotten bloody overraited, so has the X series and ZX series to boot (anything that involves red bishies, hot gals (yes, mostly the first one had more story on Aile than Vent, this was reversed in ZXA, although Aile seemed to got more fanservicy) and diggers get popular fast).
..There’s SO gotta be a huge X (X series fantards) vs Y (Legends fantards) soon.
This is so getting on. think about it though. Legends 3 could have an entirely different 3D Engine. A lot can happen in 8 years. I think the world is ready for it.
I WANT Legends 3. I SO want it. I want to know WHAT HAPPENED in the past over those 2000 some years between it and ZX Advent.
I want it SO BAD I will do ANYTHING I can for it.
This is very similar to the Pram’s wishlist that NISA has. Pram’s Wishlist is a voting service where if a request is popular enough and gets enough Yeas, they can go through with selling it.
I’m gonna go ahead and vouch for Legends 3 if this thing really does happen.
I have an inkling Inti Creates is working on a X-like series sequel anyways.
@ P-Start:
About Inti-creates…we can only hope. Or at the very least if they don’t do X9 that it’s still a side-scroller at heart. I don’t care neccasarily care about the graphics being 16-bit or 1,000,000 bit as long as the characters become smaller and environments more detailed. Sick of seeing no close ups of the characters and mavericks.
Finally. . for so many got DAMN YEARS!!!!
But I got a feeling will beat those powerstones/ RE fans out there. Because we have a very large fanbase, we’re GLOBAL!!
Aaaaaaie… I love Power Stone… X9 would be cool too… but I always wanted to actually play a Legends game…
… If it’s ANY of them, at least make it multiconsole!!
… ..
Good luck, Trigger…
Alright, let’s do it! Let the voices be heard, and may the best group win!
*laughs at all the hate on Legends*
All of that is such a metaphor for how real life, reality is. Or more specifically, America is. If it isn’t mainstream, then its nonsense and isn’t worth time. Well the Legends series is worth as much time anyone will give it and more. Legends fans obviously enjoyed the games and everything encompassed within them on a different level likely because we are on another level. Now it is time for Capcom to get down on the level. I am desiring Legends 3, and of course MegaMan X9 lol, but a suped up Resident Evil Outbreak would also be welcomed with better, more open gameplay, but not before the formers. So I hope this petition thing or whatever Seth teases goes live soon!
This is really happening, it’s like crazy this is sooooooo awesome.
3 thoughts run through my head for ideas…
Megaman X9 (Duh)
Megaman Axl (A personal always…sorry I like Axl, he should have a spin-off for kicks)
Eclipse as a character (Who doesn’t want their fan character as an actual character?
Que sera sera.
I’m voting for a Legends/X crossover. That way, at least we can all hellyeah (or commiserate when we get another EXE:OSS).
It’s that, or or Resident PowerMan Legends Outbreak 3.
I think capcom should make all of those. a X9, ZX3, and Legends3. and im sure there are tons of other people who also want to see these games get made. Hopefully capcom will make these games soon.
….YEESSSS!!!!!! Finally. *Grabs buster,sword and gets ready to fight* I want this game to be made!!!!!
Really, as much as I really like the X series and it is by far, my faveroite of all the MM series, I do want to see a Legends 3. A lot. A WHOLE LOT! Give me L3 first, then X9. ^^
What a coincidence. I just started replaying Legends last night
All right, then may the best game win (by which I mean Legends 3, of course).
Since we’re apparently gonna have to compete with two other series…
Blade Arm, check.
Shining Laser, check.
Spread Buster, check.
I also think MML is too overrated, please dont think Im a MML hater, its just that…it wasn’t that great, I know we havent heard about the game since 2000 but face it, its the megaman series with the highest ratio of cameos, we’ve forced to seem at least ONE of those servbot cameos in most recent Capcom games, what does MMX get? we barely got to see Zero in Tatsunoko vs Capcom (and he’s not exactly my fav character)
dont get me wrong Im not implying there shouldn’t be a MML3, its just that it would be nice to see another MMX game
MMX1 is still my second favorite game of all time, but honestly I think the magic (by which i mean quality) left that series a long time ago. Legends on the other hand had more polish than the first in its only true sequel. (In other words, it left on a high note instead of a low note).
Dont get me wrong, if they made an x9 I’d still get excited, but I got excited for every X game and have been disappointed too many times in a row. Not to say there has been nothing of value in the later X games, even X7 at least had some cool music as a “silver lining”, but the overall quality of the games has been not so great in recent times.
personally, after seeing what Capcom have done to X8, I don’t even want to see what a new generation megaman Legends game would look like? I mean Capcom could just be simple about the whole Idea, make the game in PS1 graphic and release it on Wiiware, like Megaman 9, you know?
@hsbinh1412:
OMG…no…
Actually, I have to agree with what hsbinh1412 says (not on X8 though!). Giving it a total makeover and overhaul can actually turn off most hardcore MML fans whose eyes go O_O at Legends’ trademark subpar graphics.
Let’s keep our heads as fellow-fans of the Blue Bomber/Red Swordsman/Morphing Gunman together – it’s not like Inafune’s coming up with a new instalment only for the series who still has fans standing after a Ragnarok-esque fanwar… I hope.
X’s only good games were 1-4. It needs to either die, or continue the MHX games up to X5, then retcon X6-8 & CM… And we know what already happened with that.
I only just LIKE the Legends games – I’m no real fan, but if it’s between it and X9, I’m gonna have to go with the one that doesn’t have so many mediocre-to-bad games under its belt. I can’t get excited for a new X game anymore.
There, I said it.
Exactly wat i was trying to say, those last TWO games were bad.
But i still luv X
I’ll agree that the X series is my personal favorite due to Mega Man X1 being my first Mega Man game ever, and I have such found memories with it. I thought that X5-7 weren’t that great, with X7 being the worst. X8 was a step back in the right direction of good quality, mostly. MHX was a giant step in the right direction, and I’d love to see more of those.
The Classic series recently got a sequel (even though I want more Powered Up too), and I’m GREATLY tired of EXE and Starforce series. I’m not saying those two were bad series, but I want a change for a little while. Since they stopped ZX, I haven’t been able to get my other Mega Man genre fix, and it’s killing me. -_-;;
So, I think Legends deserves a sequel the most since it only has two games, and I’ve been wanting a third one for a while now, more than I’ve wanted one for X. Besides, I greatly miss seeing good ‘ol Trigger. Let’s hope we can all make it happen! =) As everyone else said though, we need to find ways to get the word out. Through other websites and social networking sites. Anyone care to start up a Facebook, Myspace, etc. page for some support?
Looking at Tatsunoko vs. Capcom’s character models and some of the more detailed animation and promo art for Volnutt over time, I think it would work fine.
Besides, Mario and Sonic do well, and their designs are hardly complicated.
–LBD “Nytetrayn”
My vote’s for Legends 3. While the controls were a bit awkward in the first two games in some parts, the story-lines were immersive and engaging. Especially in the second one. Plus, it had some of the best voice acting I’ve heard in a video game. Didn’t they already design an engine for it that was used in ‘Dead Rising’? If so, maybe they’ve improved the controls somewhat.
Argh, theres so many sequels I wanna see in the X series alone – X9, Command Mission 2, and MHX2. Even though I’m a HUGE X fan (and it pains me to say this), I think the Legends series needs the sequel more as it was greatly under-rated. It’s only fair considering that the most recent X game was released in 2006. Hopefully if they decide to go with Legends 3 it will pave the way for more X series sequels, or vice versa.
This is no time for the Megaman community (X and Legends fans) to be squabbling amongst each other. We must stand united in our desicion if we wanna beat out the Powerstone 3 and RE: Outbreak competition.
I don’t think we’ll have any trouble where Outbreak’s concerned… That is, unless Capcom decides to add voice chat or split-screen; in which case, we really need to push for Legends 3 as much as possible.
@MaverickHunterRix: I dunno, the DASH fanbase sure is quick to be divisive with the fanbase whenever EXE or Ryuusei are involved. . .
@LBD: Unless Rockman DASH 3 has a gameplay upgrade equatable to the shift from Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Galaxy, it’s not something I’ll be too impressed with. Sonic, on the other hand, has consistently sucked since after Adventure 2 (and there are those who would extend this suck range to anything after Sonic 3).
Honestly, I’d much rather see Capcom focus on a 3D Rockman that isn’t DASH. Outside of the Bonnes, the DASH series is really lacking in. . . anything I can find remotely amusing. Rockman DASH (1) was my first Rockman game, and, looking back after all I’ve played now (just about everything else), it really comes up short.
I think that Mega Man Legends 2 was really a great game, and like everyone is saying, there is a HUGE cliffhanger in the story, and also a HUGE gap between ZX and Legends. But I would really like if Legends 3 had more of a “classic mega man feeling”, what do I mean?.
I mean that Legends is the Perfect way of doing a Mega Man in 3-D, but Capcom =”#$”# didn´t put the “classic” elements in it (stage selection, weapon steal, etc). I would be nice if MM Legends 3 was like the other legends games but it had some classic MM elements in it. YES, its possible to do a MM in 3-D an the proof was MM Legends 2
All right, I’m excited! After all this time, we might actually get a Mega Man Legends 3?! Well, let’s hope, but I’m not sure if I’m going to hold my breath. The way Legends 2 left off, I’d expected them to release a sequel shortly thereafter… And here it is years later and we’re still praying to even see it. Even still, the fact Capcom is finally going to give us a voice to ask for it is *extremely* encouraging, so maybe after all this time we’ll finally get our wish! I know I’ll be throwing in my vote once it opens!
I must admit I’m a little surprised to see how much people are going back and forth on X versus Legends on here… I was under the impression Capcom was simply giving us a new way to make our voices heard in support of Legends 3, but I suppose I could be mistaken. If it does end up being some sort of “pick your favorite series overall and vote” system where you can’t support all your favorite Mega Man games and have to pick only one to vote for, then I fear the division will be so wide and varying among fans that our combined votes for any given series might not beat out the other games competing to be made–RE Outbreak and Powerstone 3 having been named already as major competitors. I really, really do want to see a Mega Man Legends 3 game myself, but if I’m forced to pick between Legends and Mega Man X, I’m afraid Legends just has no chance even with me… Mega Man X is first and foremost my favorite series by far, and X8, in my opinion, put an end to the streak of disappointing games in the series that started with X5 and ended with X7. I was incredibly impressed with X8, and would love to see another X game just as impressive… I really don’t want to have to choose between the X and Legends series because Legends just can’t win for me, no matter how excited I might be to finally get a Legends 3. I absolutely loved the Legends games; played through both of them, still own them, and am planning to go through them again now that the possibility of a Legends 3 game on the horizon has seriously excited me. Capcom, please don’t make me choose between X and Legends! I want them both, but I love the X series more and can’t vote for Legends over X…
A new X game AND a Legends 3 game would be awesome!
I’ll just hope for that…
@Fishman: Apples and oranges; I was responding to hsbinh1412′s post about the graphics. I too would hope there would be some advancement and tweaking to the gameplay as well, though preferably not too much.
Still, I could do for some Wii Remote aiming in place of the old lock-on, even if it was one of the better lock-on functions I’ve ever used.
–LBD “Nytetrayn”
@LBD
totally agree about the aiming idea… hence putting it in that article i wrote awhile back
Metroid Prime 3 had motion-controls with lock-on; do you mean something like that?
…well i just hope for another megaman game full stop! are we not fans…but it would be nice to see L3 X9 and (what would be best of all) Megaman 10…wit a miute…10 is X in roman numerals…is Capcom trying too tell us somethin here…but seriously i just hope for a new Megaman game no matter what serie it is from (as long as its on Wii, DS or PSP!)
Would rather have another X series game than a Legends one myself was never a fan of them
well, I love the MML, still need to play through 2, just recently bought it, but have been to busy to really play it.
Legends was great back in the day, but I’d have to admit, even though I love the game, it could use a lot of improvement, mostly in the controls department.
Which is why we definitely need a legends 3! you can make top notch graphics with the same legends feel, and improve the controls to make a slicker game.
Legends has the most potential out of all the mega man series. it has the most room to evolve and become something greater. The biggest problem I see about that is that the ones who want the game are fans of the old games, so they’ll try to preserve the exact feel of the old games just like MM9, so most likely not much would change.
as for the X games. X8 was a step in a good direction. It was a great game, but could definitely use some polish. X5 and 6 weren’t that great, but they were okay. X7 was definitely bad. I think the biggest problem with X8 was that the 3Dness made it a lot harder to judge maneuvers. It was harder to jump around platforms, and get close to enemies. You couldn’t be as precise, but they’re trying something new. and when you try something new, it’ll have it’s problems
@erik the red
Are people really that concerned with keeping Legends the same? Speaking as somebody who bought it the day it came out and is currently in the middle of replaying it yet again, I fully support major graphical and control overhaul.
I love the game, but the visual style isn’t dependent on ps1 era 3D, more horsepower should just make it closer to the artwork. And the controls, while improved a bit in the sequel with the addition of lock on while moving, are very far from perfect. Sure, you get use to the controls after awhile, but that doesn’t mean that they are good.
Whats great is that in spite of flaws like that, the games were still fantastic, so having better controls and better graphics should make it even better. I don’t think its really the same type of situation as Mega Man 9.
