Niitsuma Talks Zero and Other New TVC Characters
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Producer Ryota Niitsuma recently made a blog post for Capcom about the new character additions to the upcoming version of the game. And over at the Capcom*Unity, they took the liberty of translating the post so that we can all enjoy it as well.
This being The Mega Man Network, we’re bringing you the Zero portion of the post, but first, Niitsuma says that the new characters have received good feedback, and the R&D staffs are pleased with the reactions they have received as well.
And lastly, Zero.
There was an opinion from R&D that they wanted to include another character from the Mega Man series so I talked to Inafune-san. We were most careful about not letting those hardcore fans down, so we had to make something good.
During the early stages of game design, this character was to be a character which would technically borrow some moves from other character datas, and not made from scratch, which meant that it wasn’t one of the higher priorities. But, as I mentioned above, it is something we had to do right, and as I rejected many of the team’s ideas, I kept on asking for something different, something that felt more like Zero – the guys said at the end: “Fine, you’re asking us to make it from scratch right!?”
But then Zero turned out to be very good quality work again.(Guys, sorry about what I said to you! But it’s great!)
The attack moves that they implemented are taken a lot from the original series, and it is very cool character in a fighting game.
Level 3 super is Dark Hold…? Good stuff guys!
For the other three characters, Tekkaman Blade, Frank West, and Joe the Condor, you can read the full post in its entirety over at the Capcom*Unity.

Excellent, now there’s a conversation between video game titans that I would love to have been present for. Hopefully we will see Mega Man characters appearing in more and more games *cough* Smash Bros. *cough*.
@ Chris: Yeah i even heard a rumor that the Blue Bomber was gonna be in brawl at the start of the project but got scrapped because of his appearences on the PSP! Can you believe that!!
Seriously?! What garbage! I think that’s a very childish and unprofessional move by Nintendo (I assume it was them because why would Capcom care about this….although I suppose Sony could have brought complications into the problem)….regardless…GRRRRR!
I thought he didn’t show up in Brawl due the fact that Inafune never requested him to appear in the first place. In a sort of mutual misunderstanding, both Sakurai and Inafune wanted the other to make the first move.
What UND says is the only verifiable account. The rest is just rumor/speculation.

@UND
Yeah that’s what I thought the case was….either way though I’m still very disappointed about it.
