Battle Network/Star Force crossover announced

During this weekend at the World Hobby Fair in Japan, Capcom announced the Battle Network/Star Force crossover “Rockman EXE: Operate Shooting Star” for the Nintendo DS. Scarce details are known at this point, but it’s expected to be a data action RPG that will probably be released this year in Japan. Details will be formally announced in the September issue of CoroCoro. It is likely the title that will include this year’s boss character contest winner Clock Genius. At the event, series producer Takeshi Horinouchi stated he has a variety of ideas for projects in mind leading up to Rockman’s 25th anniversary.

I don’t dislike any of these series. I recently got interested in them around last week, or so?
Honestly, if it turns out well, I’ll try it out.
I mean– It depends on how the plot goes that is, for me.
Plot is everything.
RegalX7: I’d say that most Classic and Legends fans that I’ve met are actually pretty mellow about the existence of the EXE timeline series. It’s really only part of the X fanbase that consistently leaps out as being the kind that you describe.
I mean, do you see the support that Legends has been getting? For a while there, it seemed like EVERYONE wanted one, even those who haven’t played any Legends game before… Right up until this year’s CoroCoro Create-A-Character contest.
Now, it appears that the Legends hate has appeared again. It’s not as bad as the amount of hate the EXE timeline has been getting, but it’s still recieving enough hate to warrant some ridiculously rude comments that might as well be summed up as ‘Legends isn’t REAL Megaman and the Legends fanbase should be ashamed of themselves’. Close to 90% of the time, it’s usually said by someone who only wants an X game instead.
Case in point: Legends haters are just as annoying. And I haven’t even played Legends yet.
Hell, anyone going out spewing, “WRRRRYYYYY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME CAPCOM, YOU PHAIL!!!” and screaming, “[insert series here] should go die in a fire and make a [insert series here] game instead!”
I usually take an ‘I wish a [insert series here] game was announced -ALONGSIDE- this game’ stance, but it seems most people these days only want whatever they want and wish for everything else to die in a fire in the process.
Logic seems to leap out of the window in the process too. (Very few seem to realize that the sales that the EXE and Zero series brought in could have very well funded the later X games, Star Force, ZX, and perhaps even Megaman 9.)

I am really, really happy to hear about this. Star Force’s battle system is just too simple and they designed themselves into a corner with it. If they bring back EXE/BN6′s battle system and add on to it, with wifi battles then I’d die happy. Ryuusei/Star Force 3 has a very fluent transfer between real and wave world, if they could incorporate that with bn6′s battles then it’d be beautiful. Anyone notice that the art is something from the 20th anniversary though? It’s in the R20 book too. The logo’s also looking like EXE 1-3, I’m really hoping for 6′s system as opposed to reverting back to the older games, which would be silly.

While Capcom has “crossover” on the brain, they can make an X/Legends crossover — Maverick Hunter and Purifier Unit hunting down those Irregulars side by side sounds pretty sweet to me.
That aside, I’m looking forward to seeing how this Star Force/Battle Network crossover will turn out. Hopefully it’ll be something worth my wallet.

This is the best thing they could do!!! Megaman Battle Networks are my favorite games and i love Star Force!!! Let’s support them to continue both series!

ok, for starters, and according to timeline, there can never be a zero / zx crossover because zero is already in zx as a biometal. Alilatias, your right about people getting crazy and wanting other crossovers when one is anounced. Though i do agree with a X and original crossover. And by the way, excluding bn1′s chip system, bn2 and 3 were the best games in all areas by far. Being a former legends hater, i have seen that my hate is missguided. legends is really good. and technically if x fans hate legends, they should also hate all x games from 7, 8, and command mission, since the 3D battle system in both gamespy is quite similar, so x fans, STOP HATIN! I do hope this crossover works out, because i love both of these series. to bad it will take so long to get to canada and it better not be dsi exclusive or have dsi only function that cant be used in ds’s or ds lite’s!

this is a very good news. I havent finished any starforce, I think it’s not as attractive as BN. I dunno, the series seems losing the spirit. it’s really make me happy that capcom decided to continue BN series!

i havnt been the foundest of the starforce series( though the recently released 3 has been pretty fun), but ive been in love with the battle network series since i was in grade 3 and got my mom to pick up the first game. its been love ever since. im personly just excited o here a new battle network is comming!!!!!!

Rogue vs Bass In anime style would be the greatest possible fight in all of megaman history. Imagine the possibilitys(none of what I am about to say is official, this is just my imagination going bat crap crazy). Two files one from the BN point of view and one from the SF point of view. They could let SF Megaman Fight the EXE one and visi versa. They could do the SF fighting set up with everything normal, but make it a 3×9 field. Put all the battle stuff into 2.5d (like new super mario bros.)Have noise start to effect Megaman EXE. and have souls resonate with the SF Megaman. Even make different battle wizards playable like Taurus, Gemini, possibly even Rogue (possibly). They could put different Navis into the wave world like Serchman EXE. for exemple. The possibilitys are so large they my even bring back the dark power by some random bystandar finding the last of the dark chips. My head has been buzzing with these ideas ever since I saw the link between BN and the first SF. This. Will. ROCK!!!!!!!!!
this game looks cool but personally i like the sf3 battle system more than any b system i hope they make it a option where u can play as megaman exe with bn system and megaman sf with sf3 system that would be a great win for the game also i hope they keep the wifi battle thing going and i hope they keep link power and bring back the brother mail system that would make this game so awsome!!!!!

yea man this is awesome bn was awesome cause megaman was my first video game bn 3 hope they make the crossover good and have rogue and protoman fight that would be epic and they should bring bck the megaman or starforce bck to the tv series
