There has been a fair bit of buzz around Rockman figures and models as of late, what with the Kotobukiya figure and the custom Legends/DASH figures coming to Wonderfest. But in the case of the latter, it appears they won’t be alone.

Exclusive to the Wonder Festival Summer event on July 25th are these following three figures, as featured by Tokyo Hunter. The first is the D-X Zero resin kit (click for more images), which is based on the Zero so many of us know and love from the greater part of the Mega Man X series, though the specific game referenced is Rockman X4. No height or price are given, though Tokyo Hunter says they can be contacted for a price quote and pre-order before July 23rd.

The second figure is once again made in the image of Zero; however, the Bidotei Zero movable figure color resin kit is for those who are fans of the crimson Reploid’s sleeker Mega Man X8 design, and unlike the D-X figure, features a drawn Z-Saber. The height is once again unknown, but the price is 10,000 yen (around $115), “plus a commission fee.” Again, a price quote can be obtained and a pre-order made by contacting Tokyo Hunter before the 23rd.

Finally, it’s the revenge of the Robot Master everyone loves to see standing victorious. The Nama Negi Kokoro Airman resin kit (click for more pics) stands at an unknown height, and will cost 3,000 yen (about $35), plus the commission fee. All the same details as above apply here.

Speaking of which, the site notes the following about ordering:

E-mail me at hunt AT tokyo-hunter.com with your list of wanted items, and I’ll quote you my prices if I can get them for you. The wanted items can be anything that’s listed on my blog, including those past the order deadline, and anything else that’s not listed. I accept payment via PayPal only.

If you just have a general question, you can send it to questionsATtokyo-hunter.com (replacing “AT” with @, of course).

As previously reported, the latest issue of GAMESIDE in Japan would contain a special “Rockman 10 Big Picture Book,” including conceptual designs of the Robot Masters and their stages. And thanks to our Japanese connections, we’ve got the concept art here to show you!

What’s most interesting is how some of the stages were thought up. A few of them looked like nothing I’d ever imagined back when I was first playing Mega Man 10. Check them all out after the break! You can click the images for super-sized versions.

After 23 years and 16 games (to say nothing of all the various little side-efforts), have the Robot Masters of the Mega Man series finally reaches saturation? Are we on the verge of a Robot Master meltdown?

This seems to be what the folks at CollegeHumor are implying, as they highlight a number of new robots which seem to suggest that the creative minds at Capcom and Inti Creates are beginning to run out of steam:

Don’t try to act like you haven’t had the same thoughts– I saw how many of you lamented Sheep Man and Commando Man when they were first revealed.

Personally, I like “Getting Lost in a Really Bad Neighborhood Man” and “These Snakes Are So Poisonous I Had to Buy Them at 2am From a Vietnamese Dude Who Operates Out of a Shipping Container in Staten Island Man.”

Oh, and “Bad News Man” is pretty cool, too.

The name “Hideki Kamiya” might be familiar to some of you, particularly if you’re a fan of such video game franchises as Capcom’s Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Okami, not to mention Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. Outside of Capcom, his efforts can be seen in the story and direction of Bayonetta, developed by Platinum Games and published by SEGA.

Kamiya has recently expressed interest in being “forced” to create a Star Fox game for Nintendo– at gunpoint, no less– and it seems he has revealed a similar interest in Mega Man, though no firearms seem to have been mentioned.

The subject came up on his Twitter account, during a conversation with Capcom’s Shu Takumi. Therein, Kamiya recalled his high school days, during which he submitted two Robot Masters to one of Capcom’s many design contests. His creations were titled “Planet Man” and “Aqua Man,” and though Mega Man 8 would feature a Robot Master bearing the latter name, it seems that it was not of his creation.

Andriasang has a little more information from the conversation, including an overview of his voice acting in some of the above-mentioned Capcom titles on which he worked.

With that, we are left to wonder whether or not Capcom would ever take Kamiya up on the proposal. And if so, what kind of Mega Man would he make? A sequel to an existing game? Or something new altogether?

Actually, there are no socks involved, but plenty of foot-action nonetheless as one Nick Hagman, who has taken games such as the original Castlevania and Super Mario Bros. to task with a dance pad, has set his sights on Mega Man 2.

The song says “can’t beat Air Man,” but Nick is not deterred, as the overgrown walking fan becomes his first target:

</ br>
</ br>
Next up, he takes his twinkle-toes to Flash Man’s domain:</ br>
</ br>

</ br>
</ br>
After that, Quick Man just makes sense, right? Except he opted not to use the Time Stopper to put a stop to the deadly beams spread throughout Captain Boomerang’s lair:</ br>
</ br>

</ br>
</ br>
And then? The Robot Master most people prefer to take on first (if only to nab his rather versatile weapon), Metal Man:</ br>
</ br>

</ br>
</ br>
And following this? …I don’t really know. That’s all he’s done so far, but you can follow along as Nick continues to update on his YouTube Channel.</ br>
</ br>
Good luck, Nick, and dance! For everlasting peace!</ br>

That’s the thought which has gone through many a mind when presented with the following image, among a number of others, which depicts characters from the original Mega Man series in 3D.

MMN reader M. S. Corley passed along the news of the works, created by David Espinoza and Yoshi Vu, a couple of weeks ago, but we missed the opportunity to report on it in a timely manner. Thankfully, they continued their work and produced even more renders, thus keeping this news relevant.

You can find more renders here, including Quick Man, Metal Man, Heat Man, Flash Man, Bubble Man, Crash Man, a Met, a close-up of Mega Man’s noggin, and even a logo.

</ br>
Mega Man 10 was finally released for the Xbox 360 a couple of days ago, and in the time since, some new information has come up that should interest most of you.

For starters, a 3D-ish Mega Man 10 premium Xbox theme, which was previously thought exclusive to Japan, is now available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 240 Microsoft Points. It looks pretty cool, even if those Avatars don’t look too excited about it.

Of interest to those outside the Xbox bubble is word that the official Mega Man 10 website has updated. Now you can find boss info, new screens, the viral video trailer, and best of all, some new Mega Man 10 desktop wallpaper.

Some new info has popped up regarding the downloadable content. Nothing major, but as some might have suspected, Bass and the Special Stages won’t be hitting all three platforms at the same time. Here is how it breaks down:

North American Schedule/Pricing:

Bass (Playable Character) = $1.99 USD/200 Wii Points/ 160 Microsoft Points and Special Stage 1 (includes Enker) = $$.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.

4/5 – Wii

4/7 – Xbox 360

4/8 – Playstation 3

Endless Attack =$2.99 USD /300 Wii Points/ 240 Microsoft Points

Special Stage 2 (Punk) = $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.

Special Stage 3 (Ballade) = $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.

4/26 – Wii

4/28 – Xbox 360

4/29 – Playstation 3

Finally, if you’re a member of the Capcom Unity, it might not be too late for you to head over and leave a comment letting them know why you deserve a free Xbox 360 download code for Mega Man 10 in order to have a shot at winning that very prize. They’re randomly selecting ten winners today, so go! Go!

Earlier, we mentioned that Mega Man 10 could now be purchased on the 10bo10 360 (still nothing? Okay then), but there may be some of you who are unable to purchase it for whatever reason. If this sounds like you, then Games Radar may have you covered.

Following is a video they’ve whipped up of every 8-bit Mega Man boss level. Name them all, and you can win a download code (assuming someone hasn’t already). And really, who among you reading this seriously can’t name them all, right?

GR notes “We omitted 7 and 8 because they’re weirdo games that don’t fit the style (and they wouldn’t synch up as well, derp), and we also left out the Wily levels, as they’re never really part of the true Mega Man experience. Which is figuring out which bosses to beat in which order, by the way.” I’m sure many will argue the latter points, but nonetheless, there it is.

Good luck to anyone who tries for it. And if it’s too late, well, at least it’s a fun video to watch, right?

If you’ve been following the Mega Man 10 art contests at the Capcom Unity, then you know that they have nearly reached the end of the road with the judging for Solar Man, which runs through the weekend, if I’m not mistaken.

But just because they’ve run out of Robot Masters for fans to render doesn’t mean the fun and games are over yet; next week is their mysterious “??? Event,” for which JGonzo says there is “no clue for you” before relenting and offering “a tiny hint.”

Prior to the announcement of Bass as the “downloadable” (yeah, yeah, I know) third character, fans had considered this heroic hulk as another possible contender for playability, particularly in light of the game’s Japanese subtitle, “Threat from Outer Space!!” That just leaves us with the question of whether this is simply a fun opportunity for fans to cut loose, or if perhaps there is more to come in Mega Man 10 than we were led to believe.

The Robot Master known throughout the world as Air Man has quite the memorable theme, one which has been played and remixed numerous times. Today, Robert Kovacs dropped us a line to let us know that he has taken his own stab at performing the classic 8-bit arrangement via the piano:

In addition, he’s produced a version with a slightly-different alternate ending:

Excellent work, Rob! But can you handle the theme from the first leg of Wily’s fortress?

Those interested in obtaining the sheet music for this piece can contact Rob by e-mail at rob[at]returnofsimple[dot]com. And if you have a similar performance you’d like us to feature, feel free to drop us a line at the.mega.man.network[at]gmail[dot]com, and we’ll try to bring your work to the masses. Who knows? Maybe someone at Capcom will even catch wind of it (no pun intended), and bring it to their audience as well!
