Mega Man Universe Site Updated, Reveals Mega Man 2 Cast

Capcom of Japan has updated their Mega Man Universe homepage with some artwork and screenshots, as well as a compilation of the tree trailers we got yesterday. The new red planet serves as an "urgent notice" section. The video has an additional bit at the end, and Inafune states that many more playable characters will come along, and asks which the viewer is looking towards using. The site also revealed most if not all the Robot Masters from Mega Man 2, and others.

Here we have a teaser image from the Mega Man Universe page. But with a little gamma correction and exposure... bam!

Updated: I've decided the character directly to Mega Man's left is Air Man. It's actually easier to make out his rounded body in the darker image. However, I no longer think the character to the right is Shadow Man. The webbed feet are exactly like Bubble Man's but the rest of the body isn't. Perhaps this indicates the possibility to swap out body parts in character customization? The character on the far left, who I used to think was Air Man, does kind of look like Stone Man... but who knows really.

Some other things worth noting from the trailer and screens. We've seen so far Mega Man's ability to Metal Blade, Quick Boomerang and Air Shooter. Weapons, however, no longer seem to change Mega Man's color. Also in some shots, there is a curious looking 8bit sprite robot. I'm going to wager that this is a return point indicator.

Finally, you can find high res versions of the screens and art from the MMU page at 4Gamer.

Update: I've done some lightness tweaking with a much higher quality version of the group image here. It's a pretty large image file, but you can take a look and speculate on some other characters. If you can make a compelling case I'd like to hear it!

Funny, Something Looks Different...

There is no cause for alarm. Do not adjust your television set. This is... the revolution! Or, it's just a site layout update. More towards that. After accumulating some user input a few months back, we began working on some tweaks to improve site navigation, and that ended up turning into a whole new layout. And if you were pretty used to the previous design, we hope you come to enjoy this one quickly. Of course, this is a transitional phase right now. We still need to make some adjustments, and carry the redesign over to the other major sections of the site. Hopefully this will be finished sometime in June. In the meantime please, by all means, give us your thoughts and concerns about the new design, and especially clue us in to any glitches or issues. After all, we do all of this for YOU, so your input matters the most.

Thank you, and enjoy the new TMMN!

Introducing Our Brand New Community Forum!

Nearly a year ago, we began making efforts to revamp The Mega Man Network, making it a richer and more user friendly site. We are still continuing with these efforts, which honestly goes to show how lazy we are. But progress is progress. Today is perhaps a small milestone, though, because we are ready to unfurl our new TMMN Community Forum. Unfortunately, you all must rejoin, should you so desire. The new forum is a much newer version of the script than the one before, and truthfully, having people rejoin will afford them the opportunity to check out what's new. However, you not need to be a member to interact either, as we are now allowing guests to post replies to topics.

A couple of other things to note. The old forum is not gone, just inactive. If there is some thread of posts or the like that's vitally important to you, we should be able to go back and get it for you. Also, our gallery is no longer bridged with the forum, so fan artists now must use the gallery to login and such. We will also be working on the gallery to make that a little easier to use too.

Anyway, I know this is all a bit sudden, but I recommend you just hit the ground running and have fun! We hope you enjoy the new community!
