D-Arts Black Zero Confirmed for US this December (Updated)

1006142_614041735281662_634661021_n Following our report yesterday, Bluefin has now confirmed that the D-Arts Black Zero figure will release in the United States December of this year, and November for those ordering in Japan. They've also provided this cool publicity image. The latter half of this year has become full of Mega Man X!

UPDATE: Premium Bandai has opened their pre-order page for Black Zero (although pre-orders are not being accepted yet). You can see a number of additional pictures her, as well as accessory details. The figure comes with two Z Sabers, a Z Saber effect part, three face parts, removable Z Buster muzzle, removable right arm, and two removable wrist parts. Thanks, Django!

Rockman Xover Launching Later This Month

Last week, news from Famitsu App indicated that the iOS social RPG Rockman Xover may be releasing sometime soon. Some new details indicates that is very much the case. According to the latest issue of Dengeki Game App, Rockman Xover is expected to release sometime in the tail end of October, i.e. the last third of the month. That means the game could hit the Apple Store as soon as this coming Monday in Japan. Whatever your stance is on this controversial Mega Man title, one thing is certain: it's coming. It's coming soon and there's nothing you can do about it.

Famitsu Rockman Xover Item Indicating a Near Release?

Presently, the iOS social game Rockman Xover still has the vague release date of Autumn in Japan (and no clue with regards to the west, but it is coming). However, a notice from Famitsu indicates the game may be coming out soon - as early as next week even. An issue of Famitsu App, a sister magazine to Famitsu Weekly that covers smartphones, releases next week on the 18th. This issue will contain "limited edition items" via serial code for a variety of games, including Rockman Xover. While this is no guarantee of release date, it would still be a bit odd for a magazine to publish a limited availability promotional item long before a game actually comes out.

Whatever the case may be, I am curious to finally try out the full version of Xover and see if the game lives up to all the, ehem... "hype."

Bluefin Announces January NA Release of D-Arts Mega Man

Those of you psyched for Bandai's upcoming D-Arts Mega Man figure (and I know there are a lot of you), take note. While the figure is releasing in Japan this December, Bluefin Tamashii Nations will be bringing the Blue Bomber to North America the following January. According to their FaceBook announcement:

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the original Japan game release, Tamashii Nations is proud to announce the long awaited and highly requested release of classic Megaman into the ranks of the advanced D-Arts high-articulation action figure series. Fan feedback was critical in the design of this set, which features Met and Rush figures! Superior articulation allows for recreating a variety of action poses. Also included in set is an extensive array of accessory parts such as shot effect parts, as well as two interchangeable face parts, additional right arm Mega Buster parts and Mega Buster barrel opening part, interchangeable right arm, and interchangeable left/right hand parts.

What a great way to celebrate Mega Man's 25th! You can be sure we'll be tossing some your way, too!

Morishita's Legends Themes Are Set to Go

Not too long ago, singer Reika Morishita informed us that production and fine tuning of her Mega Man Legends theme songs, "another sun" and "Your Wind Is Blowing" was coming to an end. At long last, she informs us today that production has indeed wrapped up, and the tunes now have a release date. The revamped singles, "another sun 2012" and "あなたの風が吹くから~Your wind is blowing~" will be released on September 12th, via iTunes and ring tone service Recochoku. The distribution is being handled by Victor Entertainment.

Morishita herself is relieved and excited to have the tracks finished and ready to go. She promises further updates soon on details about the songs themselves, and a jacket cover. And now Legends fans can mark September 12th on their calendars!

Kotobukiya's Zero Model Kit Hits Japan October 18th

With the recent fun toys the X series has been getting lately, you didn't forget about the Zero series didja? According to Kotobukiya's mobile site, the long awaited Rockman Zero model kit is officially slated to release next month on the 18th. I say long awaited because originally this was planned to release back in the summer. As detailed before, the kit will come with various weapons, hand sets and facial expressions. If you're familiar with Kotobukiya's previous Rockman offerings, you ought to have a good idea of the quality.

The Zero kit will retail for ¥3,200 (roughly $41.85 US) when it comes out. But I suppose I ought to trot out the usual import sites, which often have discounts. Amiami and HLJ are your friends. Or just wait until December for the localized US release.

There has still been no word yet about any additional model kits continuing in the Zero series. It was, after all, some time before we knew there was anything coming after the original Rockman kit. Should Zero sell well, we can probably expect some followups.

Man I love that box design.

D-Arts Rockman X Coming April!

I know a ton of you have been excited for Bandai's D-Arts Rockman X figure, but there's just been little info about its production. I am pleased to announce we have some. Bandai is prepared to release the figure towards the end of April, and it will run ¥3,300 (about $39.42 US). That's really not much more than a Kotobukiya Rockman figure. Still no word on exactly the scale, but it's looking like a fairly well sized figure to me. Note that the above image represents a prototype for coloring.

Rockman Gigamix 3 Arrives in Two Weeks

The third and final volume of Hitoshi Ariga's Rockman Gigamix series was due out back in July, but got delayed. However, Tanomi is now reporting that the manga is due out on the 27th, just two weeks from now. They've also posted the volume's cover, which again indicates a space-themed storyline, as expected, but doesn't let on to much else. The product description merely states how Ariga creates fascinating stories using the classic series world and characters. Past Gigamix volumes have featured Rockman 3 and Rockman World 5, so good bets for this volume would be Rockman 8 and Rockman 10. Again, Tanomi has the manga listed for release on September 27th, and for ¥1,260 (roughly $15.04 US). Additionally people ordering from Tanomi will receive a limited addition postcard, much like in previous Gigamix campaigns.

Mega Manga Updates: Delays, Delay-Oh, Nevermind

I understand your tortured souls, everyone. How much the waiting gets to you, the madness it induces. But at least now we know when we're waiting to. UDON's managing editor Matt Moylan has given us word today that both Mega Man Megamix vol. 2 and Mega Man ZX vol. 2 will be releasing simultaneously on September 8th. These are the absolute, concrete dates, but it might do well to keep your fingers crossed, too. You can also head over to UDON for some great preview images of both comics. If you're big fans of the Mega Man manga, then these are definitely worth the wait! Thanks, Matt!

Even Mega Man Gets a Day Off

We got a quick heads-up from UDON today. Mega Man ZX Vol. 1, scheduled to release this week on June 2nd, has been pushed back to the next day, the 3rd. The reason being is all books are shipping a day late due to today being Memorial Day. Ah well, what's one more day? Incidentally, while not Mega Man related, if you're a fan of Hitoshi Ariga's work then you should check out Mimimi, which is available for digital download on Amazon for $2.99. It may not be about Mega Man, but it still has cats and robots from the sound of it, and it looks adorable. Even if you don't own a Kindle, you can get a PC Kindle app from Amazon for free.

Possible Western Release Dates for Zero Collection

While Capcom's official stance for both North American and European releases of the Mega Man Zero Collection are still just this summer, some online retailers are starting to provide provisional release dates for the title. In North America, June 8th appears to be the date to look forward to according to both GameStop and Amazon.com. Meanwhile, Play.com is reasoning that the Zero Collection will release in Europe on August 27th.

While these are not official still, they're probably in the ballpark.

Capcom of Japan Announces Release Dates for Rockman 10

Believe it or not, as we wait a mere half a day here in North America for Mega Man 10 to come out, in Japan the release date has simply been sometime in March for a while now. However, Capcom of Japan has finally announced when our friends in the east will get in on the action too. Like us, the release is being staggered, but to less of a degree. Both Wii and PlayStation 3 users will be able to get the game on Tuesday, March 9th. However, Xbox 360 players are still going to have to wait until March 31st. Really makes you wonder how the 360 got the short end of the stick on these deals.

Star Force 3 off the air in Europe?

geoandmegaAs we near closer to the release of Mega Man Star Force 3 in North America, something had seemed funny to me. There have been no formal announcements of Star Force 3 coming out in the European region. Sure it's true that Mega Man games tend to arrive to Europe delayed - Star Force 2 was finally out nearly a year after its initial release in Japan - but the games are still announced, delay or otherwise. When E3 came and passed earlier this June, both Capcom USA and Capcom Europe presented the same press materials, except the European press site was quietly devoid of any mention of Star Force 3. This eventually prompted me to shoot an e-mail over to Ben Le Rougetel, a member of Capcom Europe's PR, to ask about the fate of the title.

The response I got this morning: "I am sorry to say that currently there are no plans to release this title in Europe."

So at least for now, it appears Mega Man Star Force 3 won't be coming to Europe. Of course, Capcom Europe could always decide to announce it later should they see fit to. If you're living in Europe and have really been waiting for Star Force 3, now's the time to speak up and show your support!

Capcom confirms Star Force 3 shipping June 30th

sf3logosAn announcement today on Capcom-Unity has confirms that Mega Man Star Force 3 will be shipping to retailers on June 30th in North America. Furthermore, Capcom has updated their Mega Man homepage to include a Star Force 3 section, where you can find details on the game's features, storyline and characters. There is also a video trailer, albeit it's just an English subbed version of the Japanese trailer. Still worth checking out, especially if you're one of those who likes to keep track of character name changes. Star Force 3 will of course be arriving in two versions: Black Ace and Red Joker.
