Manami Matsumae Contributing to "World 1-2" Album

250px-Manami_Matsumae_-_04Composing legend to the classic Mega Man games, Manami Matsumae (though you might know her better as Manami Ietel or Chanchacorin Manami) will be contributing a musical piece to the game music appreciation album, World 1-2. Directed by Mohammed Taher, World 1-2 brings together a variety of notable musicians from throughout gaming. You can find out more here. Mohammed tells us that Manami will be contributing an original track, but one that steeped in classic Mega Man style. They are going for something like Nitro Man's theme Manami's track from Mega Man 10. We certainly can't wait to hear it!

Thanks for the tip, Mohammed! Good luck in your project!

Kicking Off the Mega Man Legends 3 Concept Album Project

Last month, we announced an interesting new project; something you could consider sort of a collaboration with Get Me Off The Moon and The Mega Man Network. Truthfully, though, it's a collaboration of all of you who are interested in the world of Legends. The Mega Man Legends 3 Concept Album is meant to be a mutual collaboration of music, art and ideas, coming together and creating what we haven't seen yet from the Legends universe; what we've only dreamed of. A good deal of you seemed excited about it then, so I'm please to announce that the project has gone live now. There are two threads of discussion for you to cooperate in: one for actually contributing music and artwork, and the other for discussing ideas and giving additional feedback. We want you to use both and cooperate together in making this album a reality. There's a lot of liberty involved, and presently the album does not have a defined scope and due date. For more information, check out GMOTM's latest update (where you can also find info for other happenings), or just head over to the official threads.

And as something a bit special, here's what you can perhaps call a "sneak preview" of what's to come. This track by our own Jesse "mainfinger" Gregory was created with the basis of inspiring those coming to the project fresh, and hopefully that's just what it does. Please enjoy.

A Sample of the 5 Islands Adventure Dubbing

Here is a sample of the Get Me Off The Moon team's translation efforts for the mobile game Rockman DASH: The Great Five Islands Adventure (or its many other localized names). It now appears to have stepped up from a simple subtitle project to an actual dubbing! Color me very impressed.

Have to admit, in some regards I got closure with Legends 3's cancellation (at least in terms of cause), but hearing fans provide the voices, and extremely well too, does bring me to wondering what could have been. I can't help but feel a little regretful for it. Nevertheless, I hope the GMOTM crew keeps up the great work!

You can find more direct footage from Five islands Adventure on the Rockman DASH 3 Revival Project Blog.

Thanks to Amunshen for the tip!

Fan-Made Mega Man 9 HD Remix

For those out there who bemoan the 8-bit retro chic look of Mega Man 9 and 10, I'd just like to point this out to you: it could be worse. Of course I don't mean to disparage the work of Eric Ruth, the man behind this fan-made HD remake of Mega Man 9, and also known for doing an 8-bit rendition of Left 4 Dead (I'm starting to see a theme here). Having watched the video, I can attest this is a pretty skillfully made recreation of Galaxy Man's stage.

Eric is not planning on finishing this project, having concern about legal repercussions from Capcom. I don't see too much of an issue, although I think Mega Man 9 is pretty much fine the way it is. But I know there are those who want it in HD regardless. Of course to be truly HD, it'd need a lot more cut scenes.
