Snatch Up a Special Edition Mega Man UFS Card

spritecardThis limited edition Mega Man card for Jasco's Universal Fighting System was meant to be made available at Gen Con, but was dropped due to printing restrictions. As a result, Jasco has made the card purchasable for this week only via DriveThru RPG. You can pick it up for just a dollar! The card is the same as the one that will come included with the first Mega Man UFS set, but features a sprite design instead of the usual Complete Works artwork. Thanks for the tip, Boco!

Rather Than Get Bored with No New Mega Man Games, Get a New Mega Man Board Game!

megamanboardgameA little over a month ago, we brought word that Mega Man would be joining the world of Jasco Games' Universal Fighting System (UFS) card game alongside fellow Capcom stablemate Darkstalkers. Today, a tip from Duckaiser reveals that they are aiming for an August release with collectible tins for Mega Man and Proto Man. Furthermore, Jasco Games' website reveals that a Mega Man board game will also be coming "not too far in the near future." "You'll take control of your favorite hero, and battle Dr. Wily and his forces of evil robots!" it says, adding that it will be updated regularly "with updates to gameplay, graphics and of course when the game will be hitting shelves in stores near you!"

One might also remember that this would not be the first time that the Blue Bomber has had a board game in North America, as MegaMan NT Warrior had one during its heyday. Did any of you get your hands on it? Did you actually play it, or just collect it? And if the former, how was it? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Details on Mega Man's Collaboration with Universal Fighting System

ufs Today we have official confirmation of the collaboration between Mega Man (and Darkstalkers) and the card game Universal Fighting System. Additionally, UFS mentions on Facebook that: "Mega Man is going to have at least 3 releases over the next 3 years as complete sets. We cannot disclose which characters will be in those sets yet, however ProtoMan and Mega Man are expected in the Summer Releases this year." So it appears to be a long relationship with the Blue Bomber in the dream team card battle game.

Truthfully I don't know much about Universal Fighting System myself, but tipster Duckaiser explains: "UFS is a collectible card game, where you chose one character to start as, like a fighting game, and perform moves as cards. So, this means, Mega Man and Proto Man (and others) get character cards, and there will be cards like "Mega Buster" to attack your opponent with."

Additionally, UFS is holding a contest from now until July 4th where you can win a Mega Man Play Mat by liking their Facebook page! While I'm not much into card games myself, it sounds pretty neat!

Many thanks for the info, Duckaiser!
