And Here Are the Winners of TMMN's October Giveaway

It's hard to believe we're getting toward the end of our year of contests and giveaways. We keep tossing up prizes, and you keep coming in the hundreds trying to win them! It's a pleasure that I truly don't want to end. At any rate, this time around we had the newly released 25th anniversary Rockman rock and techno arrange albums to giveaway, and two have been chosen. They are...

BaconProcurement! Taking the Rock Arrange Ver.

The first time I’ve heard Shade Man’s stage, it didn’t really leave much of an impact on me. It made me go, “Eh, whatever.” After hearing several remixes of the track from various artists (especially PRC 26's 20+ submissions) I’ve grown to really like it. I don’t know how this happened but I do like the general feel of the song as it definitely fits the stages’ theme. It even has a really cool techno feel to it despite me preferring rock music over anything else.

And Okko! Taking the Techno Arrange Ver.

I was actually not very fond of the megaman x8 boss battle theme but after fighting through all the bosses and didn’t hear it after that I started missing it and now it’s on my playlist.

Congrats you two! We'll be sending out the albums ASAP. And to everyone else, as always, thank you so much for participating. November will bring an eleventh chance to grab something awesome! What will it be? Honestly, I'm still not entirely sure. We'll see!

Some TMMN Contest Results, Finally!

Alrighty folks, I'm using the last of my Golden Week break to finally wrap up a couple of contests (though one has technically been wrapped up a little while now). I do apologize for the amount of time it's taken; same excuses, just been busy and forgetful for a large part. First off, congratulations go to PressStart and Chris for winning the Dot Strap contest! This contest has been finished a while now, and prizes already sent off, but I'm only now getting to posting the results here.

Next, the Roll! Roll!! Roll!!! Puzzle contest. I'm happy to announce the two winners here are Glitcher and Emmy-Roll! This one got pretty few entries, and there was a very tough split decision. It can be really tiring just to make a final decision if you let yourself get engrossed over it. Anyway, the winners here have just been emailed.

Of course, I must apologize again for the time it took, and the general poor management of these past couple contests. I also realize apologies become a lot less meaningful when you make them over and over. Regardless, there will definitely be more prizes to be won coming up on TMMN! For now, I'm just gonna leave it to LBD.

Edit: You can see the winning entries, along with all the others, in the above links to the contest pages.

The TMMN Megacast #005: Sounds Like a Robot Farting

Okay, okay, so I was a bit late on this one! In this fantastical Megacast, the Not Ready for Podcast Players get into a whole heaping discussion of Mega Man X3, as it was this month's Mega Man Games Club game. We discuss all areas including the challenge, enemy design, music and features. Truth be told, I don't think we come off as very fond of the game.

Additional thrilling talk includes a review of the Rockman 1~6 Rock Arrange Album, and UDON's Mega Man Megamix manga trilogy (try saying that three times fast!) released last year. And I also have interesting issues getting sound bites to work.

Music featured at the break is Blizzard Buffalo by Armcannon, which was Jesse's pick. Oh, and there could be a little contest of some sort. Maybe! Might have to listen to see.

Update: Congrats to Ginrei for winning a copy of Mega Man Megamix Vol. 3!

The TMMN Megacast #4: The Galaxy Man Science Show!

Actually today we have not one but TWO podcasts for you! The first is a much belated Minicast, where I am briefly joined by Sven "Splashman" Süss and Richard "Toshihisa" VanDeventer, a podcast that spanned around the globe! The discussion is largely music themed, including the legality of music downloads (gulp) and the effects of music in Mega Man games.

And if that's not enough for you, we also have a brand new Megacast! In this episode the podcast crew forgoes all the deliberate love-squelching efforts of having things like prizes and special guests, and just gets to the straight TALK, cuz that's what you love. Actually, this episode also becomes pretty musically themed when we discuss Mega Man 5 in the new Mega Man Game Club, and then review the arranged soundtracks for Mega Man 9 and 10. We also talk a bit about Rockman Online.

Oh, and of course! We have the results for the favorite Mega Man game poll taken by YOU, the viewer! If you wanna know which games made the top ten, you'll have to listen to the show! Or, just follow the break. It's not as entertaining though.

Finally, I got around to making a podcast page! Now you can find all of our podcasts in one spot! The complexity and detail of this page definitely required the three months since I promised I'd make it.

What Is Your All-Time Favorite Mega Man?

We're conducting a fun little survey for the next couple weeks here. As 2010 comes to a close, we want to know what is your favorite Mega Man game of all time! And to tell us, all you need to do is write us at this e-mail with your favorite Mega Man game ever as the subject. No commentary necessary, and you can only pick one. Yes, out of the entire franchise. I know how hard that will be, but do your best. We are hoping to get thousands of responses, since there are quite a few Mega Man games, so be sure to tell your friends too! We will announce the top ten answers on this month's upcoming Megacast (incidentally there is no Minicast this period). I may even randomly select one mailer to win a prize. I don't know what though. I literally just thought of it right now. We look forward to your responses! Please e-mail!

UPDATE: Couple things. First, I've decided that answers given in the comments here will count too. So, either e-mail them in or post here. Second, please remember, you can only pick one game. I don't want to see multiple titles. And I certainly don't want to see arguing pertaining to peoples' choices.

UPDATE 2: You can find the results in our latest podcast post!

The TMMN Megacast #003: The End of Tabby!?

It's a new month, and time for a new Megacast. In this episode, we bring along special guest Ash Paulsen into the crew to talk about his role at UDON Entertainment and the various Mega Man products they have in the works. And maybe even some hinting at more! Maybe!? Actually I'm not real sure, I didn't review this one too carefully. Afterward, Ash and Adam get into an argument about their taste in Mega Man games. And later, we have a thrilling discussion about what new genres we'd like to see Mega Man in, only to decide we want Mega Man 11 and Mega Man Battle Network 7. But the fun doesn't end there. Dr. Wily stumbles in again to answer more of your questions, and sounds strangely different this time. He gets so scary that no one else talks and makes the segment quite awkward! Also, as has been a habit so far, we have a couple giveaways... you'll have to listen to find out the details! Oh, and the musical break is Zero's theme from Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Pretty cool!

As always, enjoy the show, and feel free to submit your segment ideas and Dr. Wily questions.

The TMMN Minicast #002

In a very sleepy episode of the Minicast, I am joined by Main and Tabby as we discuss... well, what do you think? What sort of event as of late could we possibly talk about? Hmn... We also have a special, quick guest interview with former site staffer Jaxel, who came by to drop his two cents on the happenings. Truthfully the whole thing got a bit awkward at points, but hopefully my skillful editing took care of that! We're still running a little delayed in the rough posting schedule, but we're closing the gap, and I expect this month's Megacast to come on time. So far as I know, though, you all are enjoying the show so far! Thank you! We'll keep striving to find that balance of giving the least effort and having you still enjoy it! Haha.

Revival! The TMMN Megacast #002!!

First off I need to apologize. Although there's no specific posting schedule, this podcast is coming a little delayd both due to my poor scheduling abilities and Minecraft addiction. But this is the October episode, and it is October, so I win!

In this very awesome (or maybe underwhelming) episode of The Megacast, I am joined again by Mainfinger and Tabby as we talk about Mega Man games that have no real concrete information surrounding them, making for lots of thrilling speculation and astounding guessing! Though I will admit that the whole effort might all be lost had we not been joined for an interview with awesome Mega Man rock band THE MEGAS. They (three-fourths of them anyway) appear to talk about their inspirations, stuff in the works, and deliver their recent single You've Sparked A War for our musical break. Definitely the highlight! Oh, and Dr. Wily comes around too. And, well... can't spoil everything!

I know some of you have been asking for a page that organizes the new podcast series. This is something we will definitely do, I assure you. We're always busy here on The Mega Man Network, and after some stuff clears up, liking mining some obsidian and making some spare diamond swords, I will personally see that it gets done. For now, enjoy! And send in your Dr. Wily questions! Also, if you have any suggestions for discussion topics, by all means put them here, in our forum, or e-mail us.

Introducing The TMMN... Minicast?

A couple weeks back we unveiled our new podcast program on TMMN, the Megacast. However, though the show was only intended to run once a month, and for good cause, I felt that might still be too sparse to keep the show relevant to listeners. And thus was born the Minicast. This no frills, just talk program doesn't feature the fancy guests, musical breaks and prizes the progenitor does, but it does still feature the thing hopefully you guys enjoy the most: talk. For this first Minicast I'm joined by Jesse "Mainfinger" Gregory and Andrew "AWD!" Dickman as we discuss Mega Man Universe, Mega Man Legends 3, and... a whole bunch of other stuff. In fact, the show was intended to run 30-45 minutes, but we got so sidetracked that it's pretty much as long as September's Megacast. So, it doesn't live up to its name yet, but we're still honing our stuff. Enjoy!

Introducing The TMMN Megacast!

Here's an interesting treat for you all! Starting this month, TMMN is reigniting a revamped podcast show! Since, you know, podcasts are a sign of how cool you are on the internet, and we're pretty cool let me be the first to tell you. Anyway, there's lots of fun to be had in this first of our (hopefully) monthly run. In this episode Mainfinger, Tabby and myself are joined by Capcom Unity's Joveth "jgonzo" Gonzalez, who drops in to discuss Mega Man Universe, and we even manage to talk a little about Mega Man Legends 3 (don't get your hopes up). We also got to ask Dr. Wily a few questions, and get a little insight about OtaRockman with Tabby.

But there's MORE. Our music break features an exclusive first listen to a track from the long delayed BN Remix (which should be updating later tonight). And, well, I don't want to give EVERYTHING away. I'll just say I've done everything to make sure this first episode is very rewarding.

We don't have any fancy page to organize podcasts just yet, nor even a proper teaser image, but you can grab the first episode below. And be sure to rate us on iTunes! I hear that's important one way or another. And send in your Dr. Wily questions! Truly hope you enjoy our silliness!

Update: Congratulations to Nick Calhoun and AdventAxl for listening all the way through... and winning a Kotobukiya Rockman figure!
