The TMMN Megacast #20 – Episode 25: The Search for the Episode Number

megacast-25We made it! 25 years of Mega Man... where has the time gone? Capcom's Greg and Brett return to talk all things Mega Man on the little guy's big day alongside MegaCast hosts Adam (Heat Man), Tabby, and myself (Jesse / Main Finger). We get into Street Fighter X Mega Man, the recent Capcom public survey, merchandise, and more all before Brett gets a Game Over.

In our second half, Greg takes us on a whimsical journey through tangents about Capcom's FMV games. Also many, many other tangents. What did you expect? It's the MegaCast! Of course, we bring it back around by sharing our early Mega Man memories and look to the future. Also, we spend too long talking out a drawing that you can't see while listening... or can you?

The TMMN Megacast #19 – Rockman Zover

Hey! Did you notice? A new Mega Man game was announced! What platform is it for, you ask? Um... we'll tell you later! Rockman Xover (Zover?) is, of course, on peoples' minds. But before we get to that, Heat Man, Tabby, AWD, and myself (mainfinger) discuss the 25th anniversary rock and techno albums, the soundtrack E Can, the Mega Man Legends 3 concept album fan project, and Archie's crossover comic series between Mega Man and Sonic.

And, of course, lot's of tangents. All this and more on episode #19 of the Megacast: Rockman Zover!

The TMMN Megacast #18 – Zero's Kind of a Big Deal

Zero After sacrificing itself to protect its friends, The MegaCast appeared to be gone forever. But after scouring the Earth, we were able to find and piece together the various parts and rebuild it. Now The MegaCast is back and better than... well, at least as good as... well, it's back anyway.

This month Heat Man, Tabby, AWD, and myself (mainfinger) assemble to talk about the 10th anniversary of the Mega Man Zero series. But it wouldn't be The MegaCast without us taking a really long time to actually get to the main subject. What exactly is Project X Zone? Will it be any good? Will it even come here? We compare it to similar looking games of the past to find out!

Also, we talk about a whole bunch of random crap that has nothing to do with anything because that's what we do. But hey, maybe you know what we should be talking about. If that's the case, feel free to leave future topic suggestions in the comments below.

The TMMN Megacast #17 – The Bad Box Art GigaCast

Hey, everybody! It's the January MegaCa-Oh, who am I kidding? It's February. I know it. You know it. It's time to just accept it. But despite its belated release, we have a great show for you this month. The classic crew is finally back together including myself (Main Finger), Heat Man, Tabby, and our prodigal son/conspiracy theorist, AWD!

We also have a special guest. Do you want to see what they look like? Just look in the mirror! We asked you to call in with your input on Bad Box Art Mega Man and you did. Well, at least some of you did. We selected three of you to be heard during our discussion. But don't worry! The rest of you are still part of the show. Just be sure to stick around until the very end to hear the rest of the calls.

We also discuss all three volumes of the Mega Man GigaMix manga. But first, Heat tells us all about his trip to Wonder Festival and the many Rockman figures he saw.

All this and more on the latest (like... really late) MegaCast: The Bad Box Art GigaCast!

Your Thoughts on the Old Man

As you might know, we at TMMN have a little something called The Megacast that we like to put out every month. And we do our best to keep the topics timely and relevant. Well, sometimes things have a way of lining up nicely... On this upcoming episode of the show, we will naturally be discussing "Mega Man" as he was recently revealed in Street Fighter X Tekken. We want to make your voice heard, too - quite literally. We would like you to send in a recording of your personal thoughts this appearance of Mega Man, and your stance on things in general. Do you see this as a fun little tribute? Or do you think Capcom is intentionally messing with the fans?

Of course, we have to have some guidelines. We don't want rants, we don't want crying, we don't want endless cussing. We want composed, well thought out views. Whatever stance you take is fine so long as you can back up your claims with strong reasoning and facts. This is not about venting, it's about explaining. Be sure to introduce yourself at the start, and try to keep your recording under five minutes.

When you're done, mail us your audio file or a link to it to us by next Friday, the 4th of February. We'll go through them and select a few that we deem the most interesting and thoughtful to discuss on the show. We look forward to hearing from you!

The TMMN Megacast #16 – What is Robot DNA?

The TMMN Megacast #16 – What is Robot DNA? It's a new year and while 2011 hasn't been the brightest year for the blue bomber (and could arguably be the worst yet), Heat Man, Tabby, returning guest Ash Paulsen, and I (Main Finger) try to leave you with a positive hope for the future.

But before that, we take a moment to reflect on the Mega Man Star Force series which recently had its fifth anniversary. Of course, we can't get through it without a ridiculous amount of tangents. Honestly, though, would you have it any other way?

To top if all off, Heat tells us about Mega Man X for the iPhone. All this and more on our 16th episode of our year in review podcastacular MegaCast: "What is Robot DNA?"

The TMMN Megacast #15 – Capcom vs. Capcom

Greg Moore (Left) and Brett Elston (Right) from Capcom Unity Two is better than one. That's just science! So we're giving you a show with double the hosts and double the guests. While Heat Man and myself (Main Finger) fight for ultimate podcast host supremacy, returning guest Greg Moore and newcomer (both to the show and the company) Brett Elston must battle to the death to find out who is the biggest Mega Man fan at Capcom Unity.

After the standard interview, Heat Man decides to put Brett to the test with a pop quiz of mega proportions. We then talk about Heat's adventures at Tamashi Nation and his journey to get the comic version of the X figure along with other wacky Japan adventures that may or may not involve Maid Cafés. Speaking of Japan, we spend some time admiring the effort of Rockman fans building up a community and talk about Rockman Unity. To top it all off, we discuss the logistics of trollin'.

The TMMN Megacast #14 – To Be a Mega Master

Dashe TroxonDon't look now, but it's totally still October, guys. No, really! I mean, why else would there be an October edition of the MegaCast today? Certainly not because we're late. I would never let that happen! This month (by which I mean October), we have special guest Dashe Troxon from Legends Station joining us to talk about the recent efforts of the 100,000 Strong for Legends 3 movement. She also teases some of what's to come from the group and shares some of her experience on the fan dub of Mega Man Legends: Great Adventure on the 5 Islands.

Brian (Protodude) and Ash Paulsen (from Udon) also join me (aka Main Finger or "the guy who always forgets to introduce himself on the show") as we give the rundown on the Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet (currently in progress), have a heated debate on whether the We are ROCK-MEN! album is awesome or so awesome, and bask in our memories of the arcade scene with a discussion of Mega Man: The Power Battle.

The TMMN Megacast #13 - Heat Man's 5 Dryerless Adventures

In a strange twist of fate, Heat Man has found himself trapped one day into the future. But thanks to the science (read: magic) of the northern lights, Tabby, Ash Paulsen and I were able to establish a radio connection and hear his warnings of things to come! Of course, the crew started doubting the whole "future" business after Heat showed the cell phone he was using and started talking about a game from 2008. But since we're all Legends fans, we listened to the tale of his 5 Islands Great Adventure anyway.

But before that, Heat tells us just how bizarre the future really is. Have dryers really been banished from society? Is there really such a thing as a convenient post office? Are we actually just talking about Japan and not the future at all? We may never know.

This isn't the HeatCast, though. We all chime in to talk about Mega Man 9, how it feels to go back to it, how it compares with 10, and how it got the ball rolling for a retro revival in gaming.

Heat Man isn't the only comeback. The giveaway segment has returned! You'll have a chance to win your very own out-of-print Mega Man 6 keychain. A rare specimen indeed. How do you win? You'll have to listen yourself to find out!

The TMMN Megacast #12 - Protodude's Self Looply Corner

Heat Man may have temporarily left us to go adventuring in Japan, but that won't stop the MegaCast! We still have what's left of our rag tag crew including myself (Jesse "Main Finger" Gregory), resident conspiracy theorist Andrew "AWD !" Dickman, and Tabby "I don't like music" Ramsey. We also talk to Brian Austrin of Protodude's Rockman Corner about all manner of strange Rockman memorabilia. After the interview portion, we talk about the greatest Mega Man game ever (don't question it!) the original Mega Man X. We then ponder over the many masterfully crafted intricacies of the Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon. To top it all off, we have a discussion on how Mega Man could get more attention from the mainstream again partially inspired by Heat's recent editorial of paradigms and how they might need some shifting.

The TMMN Megacast #11 – Totally Not About Mega Man Legends 3

Thanks to Comic Con and Otacon, we fell a little behind with our July Megacast episode, so we hope you don't mind giving it a listen in early August.

Anyhow, this episode I'm joined by Jesse "Mainfinger" Gregory and Andrew "AWD!" Dickman as we break away from the segmented topic format and spend the whole time discussing the deal with Mega Man Legends 3. It was recently cancelled, in case you haven't heard about that. Sorry to lay it down so bluntly!

Rather than spending the whole show grieving, we take an analytical look at everything that went down, and weigh certain events that took place to see how we got to where we are. What areas was Capcom rational in their decisions, and where did they drop the ball? We discuss all this and more, including the efforts being taken to bring Mega Man Legends 3 back.

There's certainly been a ton of talk about the whole ordeal in the past couple of weeks, so I do hope you find something interesting and new in our discussion. Enjoy.

The TMMN Megacast #10 – Double Digits

Wow, another month go by already? I thought I was setting a pretty manageable pace with one podcast a month, but I'll tell you, these things creep up on you nevertheless. But hey, we're up to episode 10 now! This month the crew is joined by Daniel "Press Start" Wilson, who you might recall won first place in the MML3 PV contest (good job, sir!) but comes on for a different reason. Before getting to that, though, the gang takes a look at Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge in this month's game club. Hopes were that it would be on the 3DS eShop by recording, but that has yet to come about. Oh eShop, why do you love to disappoint us Mega Man fans? Oh well, we talk about the game nevertheless.

However, it's after the break that the podcast is additionally joined by a late Andy and Ash to get into the real meat of the discussion: Mega Man in Super Smash Bros. A new one has been announced coming down the pipeline at some point on Nintendo's newest hardware. What can fans do this time around to try and assure Mega Man's inclusion in the game? And just how would Mega Man perform in it anyway? We're sure you have all your theories and ideas, but listen to OURS first! Be sure to also check out the promotional site Press has started.

Additionally, we have a musical break featuring work by our own Jesse "mainfinger" Gregory, "Bots of Rage," a song up for voting this week in OC Remix's Grand Robot Master Remix Battle. You can check out the competition's main page to get the whole track plus more.

And that's a month's worth of show! Enjoy!

The TMMN Megacast #9 - Grega Man Legends

The Megacast is back at ya for another month! And this time we have an all new esteemed guest to speak to, Greg "Grega Man" Moore. He's the guy at Capcom Unity who toils endlessly to make sure your Mega Man Legends 3 dreams come true. But he managed to find a spot of time to come on and talk with us a bit, and regaled us with his wonderful adventure of joining Capcom and proving his Mega Man cred. He also stuck around while we got into a bit about Reaverbot appreciation. Unfortunately he couldn't stick around for the whole show; his body just couldn't take it yet, but maybe someday. Plus his Data Dance was giving us all motion sickness. The later half of the show is pretty much dominated by our Game Club segment, which covers Mega Man Legends this month. Yep, as you guessed this is a pretty much an entirely Legends themed show. Except for many the musical break, which is classic Mega Man medley by none other than Grega Man himself, from his life-in-the-fast-line high school band days. Bet you didn't know the guy was so talented. Incidentally, you can find the full track here. Enjoy the show!

The TMMN Megacast #8 - Let's DO THIS!

I think if you can take anything away from this month's Megacast, it's most likely this:

WE LOVE MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3!!!

In this episode I'm joined by Jesse, Tabby and Andy and we find it pretty easy to shore up our excitement for the latest info revealed about Mega Man Legends 3, including the announcement of Barrett and the Prototype Version coming to 3DS download soon! I don't think we need to tell you just how awesome the game is turning out, but we do anyway!

On top of that, in the latest game club we discuss X's jump to the world of 32-bit in Mega Man X4, and deliberate just how passionately Zero wants to stop the coop. Plus, the musical break features a chiptune rendition of Proto Man's theme from Mega Man 3 by Jason Howell (who also did the artwork for the Mega Man Mania article, what a talented guy!).

We didn't end up covering many topics this month, but there's still plenty of fun discussion! Enjoy!

The TMMN Megacast #7 - Conspiracies Abound!

A travel-worn man approaches you. You've been living underneath the shadows of lies, he says. But, he is ready to illuminate your vision. Illuminate it with truth. Do you follow this man on his journey of enlightenment? Nonsensical stories aside, here is the latest Megacast. It's a little late I'll admit, but it's our longest podcast yet; just crossing over two hours! I assure you this is not a goal we're continuing to aim for. In this episode, the crew's discussion largely centers around Inti Creates, where we give our thoughts on the dev's Mega Man titles, as well as take a particularly close look at Mega Man ZX in our game club.

Additionally, we also go over the current status of Mega Man Legends 3, and then I question if Mega Man is still just a game anymore. Also, our musical break features the song Slash Claw from Joshua Morse's album Mega Man: The Robot Museum. Lastly, there is definitely no contest after the musical break. Enjoy the show!

The TMMN Megacast #006 - I Lost a Bet

It's been six months of the Megacast, can you believe it? Half a year! They said it wouldn't last. I said it wouldn't last! But here we are. In this very serendipitous episode, the Megacast crew (sans Andy) welcome special guest, UDON Entertainment's managing editor, Matt Moylan. Matt gives us the lowdown about various upcoming Mega Man publications, especially concerning details surrounding the fan-powered Mega Man Tribute due out this summer. Then in the Mega Man Game Club, we cover Mega Man V (Game Boy) and discover it's harder to carry on a good conversation about a game we generally like (except Jesse, he totally hates this game).

Additional discussion covers looking back at Kotobukiya's foray into Mega Man model kits, and speculation about what new places the Mega Man franchise might take us, which goes utterly nowhere. But just when you think it's all over, a surprise interloper jumps into the podcast!

This episode features a Mercury Stage remix by Saitone from Chiptuned Rockman, and there might also be a little prize giveaway in order if you listen carefully! Hope you enjoy the show!

The TMMN Megacast #005: Sounds Like a Robot Farting

Okay, okay, so I was a bit late on this one! In this fantastical Megacast, the Not Ready for Podcast Players get into a whole heaping discussion of Mega Man X3, as it was this month's Mega Man Games Club game. We discuss all areas including the challenge, enemy design, music and features. Truth be told, I don't think we come off as very fond of the game.

Additional thrilling talk includes a review of the Rockman 1~6 Rock Arrange Album, and UDON's Mega Man Megamix manga trilogy (try saying that three times fast!) released last year. And I also have interesting issues getting sound bites to work.

Music featured at the break is Blizzard Buffalo by Armcannon, which was Jesse's pick. Oh, and there could be a little contest of some sort. Maybe! Might have to listen to see.

Update: Congrats to Ginrei for winning a copy of Mega Man Megamix Vol. 3!

The TMMN Megacast #4: The Galaxy Man Science Show!

Actually today we have not one but TWO podcasts for you! The first is a much belated Minicast, where I am briefly joined by Sven "Splashman" Süss and Richard "Toshihisa" VanDeventer, a podcast that spanned around the globe! The discussion is largely music themed, including the legality of music downloads (gulp) and the effects of music in Mega Man games.

And if that's not enough for you, we also have a brand new Megacast! In this episode the podcast crew forgoes all the deliberate love-squelching efforts of having things like prizes and special guests, and just gets to the straight TALK, cuz that's what you love. Actually, this episode also becomes pretty musically themed when we discuss Mega Man 5 in the new Mega Man Game Club, and then review the arranged soundtracks for Mega Man 9 and 10. We also talk a bit about Rockman Online.

Oh, and of course! We have the results for the favorite Mega Man game poll taken by YOU, the viewer! If you wanna know which games made the top ten, you'll have to listen to the show! Or, just follow the break. It's not as entertaining though.

Finally, I got around to making a podcast page! Now you can find all of our podcasts in one spot! The complexity and detail of this page definitely required the three months since I promised I'd make it.

What Is Your All-Time Favorite Mega Man?

We're conducting a fun little survey for the next couple weeks here. As 2010 comes to a close, we want to know what is your favorite Mega Man game of all time! And to tell us, all you need to do is write us at this e-mail with your favorite Mega Man game ever as the subject. No commentary necessary, and you can only pick one. Yes, out of the entire franchise. I know how hard that will be, but do your best. We are hoping to get thousands of responses, since there are quite a few Mega Man games, so be sure to tell your friends too! We will announce the top ten answers on this month's upcoming Megacast (incidentally there is no Minicast this period). I may even randomly select one mailer to win a prize. I don't know what though. I literally just thought of it right now. We look forward to your responses! Please e-mail!

UPDATE: Couple things. First, I've decided that answers given in the comments here will count too. So, either e-mail them in or post here. Second, please remember, you can only pick one game. I don't want to see multiple titles. And I certainly don't want to see arguing pertaining to peoples' choices.

UPDATE 2: You can find the results in our latest podcast post!

The TMMN Megacast #003: The End of Tabby!?

It's a new month, and time for a new Megacast. In this episode, we bring along special guest Ash Paulsen into the crew to talk about his role at UDON Entertainment and the various Mega Man products they have in the works. And maybe even some hinting at more! Maybe!? Actually I'm not real sure, I didn't review this one too carefully. Afterward, Ash and Adam get into an argument about their taste in Mega Man games. And later, we have a thrilling discussion about what new genres we'd like to see Mega Man in, only to decide we want Mega Man 11 and Mega Man Battle Network 7. But the fun doesn't end there. Dr. Wily stumbles in again to answer more of your questions, and sounds strangely different this time. He gets so scary that no one else talks and makes the segment quite awkward! Also, as has been a habit so far, we have a couple giveaways... you'll have to listen to find out the details! Oh, and the musical break is Zero's theme from Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Pretty cool!

As always, enjoy the show, and feel free to submit your segment ideas and Dr. Wily questions.
