LEGO My Mega Man?

legomegaman Just imagine, if you will, numerous LEGO building block playsets based on the many robots, levels, and characters of the Mega Man series. If one campaign succeeds, however, you won't have to simply imagine it-- you'll be able to purchase it for yourself.

This would appear to be the motivation behind this LEGO CUUSOO campaign, which features a variety of concepts based on Mega Man and several of his foes from Mega Man 2, including the Robot Masters, Mecha Dragon, and the Wily Machine, just like the one you see above. If it gets enough support (i.e. votes), then LEGO will review the idea for further consideration towards actually pursuing the idea.

However, as of this writing, the proposal has only 647 votes.

Think it could never happen? That might be what fans of the classic movie trilogy Back to the Future may have thought at one time, but lo and behold: They got enough votes, and now it's happening. According to Gizmodo, this is because-- in addition to receiving enough votes for review-- "it has high playability and it's a universally known and beloved property."

So, what are you waiting for? If you'd love to see LEGO Mega Man sets, then register and Rock the vote!

More Lega Man Goodness

Yes I decided on Lega Man, even though the artist himself officially calls it Lego Mega Man. After making Lego-fied versions of the Mega Man 2 weapons, Raphael Phillips has now tackled the Robot Masters themselves. You can check them out on The 8-Bit Cubist, along with a short interview with the artist himself.

Thanks, Raphael!

Lega Man? Or Mego Man?

Raphael Phillips submitted us this interesting artistic concept project known as the Mega Man Lego Collection. While I try to figure out what the best shorthand name is, you can hop over to his page to check out his works. The Lego branded video games are pretty popular so far as I know, so who's to say Lega Man wouldn't work? Just look at that dashing grin. Also, knowing Dr. Wily's robotic engineering skills, I wouldn't be surprised if some Robot Masters actually do have Legos in them. Anyway, I've about dried up of jokes, so check the break for a montage of Mego Man using his special weapons.
