James Farr has recently made a name for himself in creating some spot-on send-ups of various movie franchises starring some of video gaming's finest. These include "Super Mario Busters", a Ghostbusters and Super Mario Bros. mash-up, along with its sequel, "The New Super Mario Busters 2" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Troopas", which mashes the Marios up with the Heroes in a Half-shell.Read More
Well, there are no two ways about it: We've fallen a bit behind since Johnny took on Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, and Mega Man: The Wily Wars. As it so happens, he just finished up his month-long Mega Man marathon with the one-two punch of Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10, so here's everything he's done since the last time we posted, in case you weren't keeping up.Read More
We hadn't planned to update about these with any great regularity, but after watching "Johnny Vs. Mega Man 3 & The Wily Wars" above, we figured we'd go ahead and share it (mainly after the Rush Jet part). Bear in mind, there is Not Safe For Work language, so only watch when your boss or mother aren't around.
And as long as we've posted the first and the third, we figured we might as well post the second, too, in case you're interested but haven't been following Johnny's channel since the first one:
After a long, busy Otakon weekend, we've been doing some catching up on our YouTube subscriptions, and came across a few videos we thought might be of interest or worth a look for different reasons, and we're slotting them all in here together for everyone's convenience. Do note that some of these videos contain NSFW language.
First up is an edition of ScrewAttack's "The Armory," wherein they pay tribute to the franchise's weapon of choice, the Mega Buster... and X Buster. We love the guys at ScrewAttack, but can't help but notice this vid seems a little scrambled with errors; rather than point them out ourselves, we'll just let you guys handle that in the comments below.
Hey, remember when ScrewAttack pit Dr. Wily against Dr. Eggman in a Death Battle? And how they then became best buds in "Worlds Collide"? Well, if you're not tired of seeing the two together yet, Machinima decided they wanted in on the action and produced their own take on the two geniuses meeting in a "Boss Battle Throwdown."
And in case you didn't care for the first turnout, here's how it might have gone the other way. This one gets a bit bloody, though.
Last but not least, we have Johnny vs. Mega Man, wherein Johnny has begun his "Mega Man Marathon"-- a month of video updates in which he will be looking at installments from the Classic series to see how well he thinks they hold up today, just as he has done with numerous titles from Sonic the Hedgehog, The Legend of Zelda, and more in the past. This first edition looks at the very first NES title, as well as the PlayStation Portable remake Mega Man Powered Up.
