Take a Servbot and Data Wherever You Go

Normally you could only enjoy the company of a Servbot or Data while playing a Mega Man Legends game, or perhaps you with a toy or figure that will cost you bajillions of dollars (maybe).

But no longer! With the fan-made Rockman Fan AR App for Android, you can now have one of these adorable robots with you via an Android powered phone or tablet. Using print out cards (which are available on the app's store page), you can make Data or a Servbot appear anywhere you like via augmented reality technology. You can take photos, too!

Best of all, the app is entirely free. Perhaps more characters will be added down the road. But for now, a cute way to show your Legends support!

Hey that looks like...

Meet Chapit. This assistant robot developed by Japanese robotics company Raytron in 2007 has since appeared at various robotics and technology expos in Japan. But really, I can't help but feel it looks a bit familiar somehow...

Designed to be small, simple, and easy to use, Chapit can recognize people, communicate via voice with a vocabulary of up to 10,000 words (which is programmable), and can remotely turn on household lights and appliances. No word yet if it can dance, start a fire in your kitchen, or back up your memory to prevent it from being scanned by an oppressive computer system installed in a dead artificial paradise.

Sadly, Chapit is still just a concept and awaits an investor or two before it can go into production. I think Legends cosplayers definitely ought to hope it does! Just needs hands and a little brown paint. You can see Chapit in action here.

More Mega Man Legends 2 Avatars Available on PSN

Three of these are weeks old, but this new one's hot off the recent update of the PlayStation Store.  Who's the new contender? Our favorite jig-happy save spot: Data! Data now has four different avatars on the store.  Poses include his normal Front pose (sans jig), Jumping, Rear (again, no jig), and Injured.  At $0.49 a pop, they're cute enough to be worth it.

Also, now would be a good time to remind everyone of the usual requests for Mega Man Legends 1 & 2 on the PS Store as PSOne Classics.  With Data now in the avatar mix, now would also be an awesome time to beg Sony for the first animated avatar.  I MUST have my Data Dance!

Wonderfest Gives Rise to Custom Legends Figures

Yet more good news for you Rockman figure fanatics. Online figure blog/buyer deputy Tokyo Hunter has some neat custom Rockman DASH (Mega Man Legends) figures created by doujin figure circle Sorairo. There are two sets, one with MegaMan Volnutt and Data, and the other with Tron Bonne and a Servbot. The Volnutt and Servbot figures use revolver joints and are fully poseable (much like Revoltech figures). They will be exclusives to the Summer Wonderfest 2010.

Both sets are due to release on July 25th and will be ¥5,000 each (roughly $56.08 US). Remember, these are custom manufactured kits and not produced by an actual company. You can find more pictures, as well as ordering details, over at Tokyo Hunter.
