Presently, the iOS social game Rockman Xover still has the vague release date of Autumn in Japan (and no clue with regards to the west, but it is coming). However, a notice from Famitsu indicates the game may be coming out soon - as early as next week even. An issue of Famitsu App, a sister magazine to Famitsu Weekly that covers smartphones, releases next week on the 18th. This issue will contain "limited edition items" via serial code for a variety of games, including Rockman Xover. While this is no guarantee of release date, it would still be a bit odd for a magazine to publish a limited availability promotional item long before a game actually comes out.
Whatever the case may be, I am curious to finally try out the full version of Xover and see if the game lives up to all the, ehem... "hype."

Just a few items of note regarding Street Fighter x Tekken we wanted to get out there, for those of you interested in or considering purchasing the game. The first item of note is that while Cole, Toro, and Kuro will immediately be available to play upon release, the free downloadable content of Bad Box Art Mega Man and Pac-Man won't be available until March 13th.
Second, we've received a few tips about the endings for those two being available on YouTube. Generally speaking, we don't really cover endings as news here on MMN, especially if the game isn't even released yet. We didn't do it for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, we haven't done it for any other Mega Man game, and we're not doing it here. Besides, we're sure those who are interested will have no trouble finding it themselves, and-- unless we missed another version-- the audio was fake, anyway.
(As an aside: the Pac-Man ending is so, so good.)
Finally, in conjunction with the discovery of the endings is that much-- if not all-- of the Street Fighter x Tekken DLC is apparently already on the disc. Whatever your take on that may be really isn't the issue, though. Rather, it seems that both Mega Man and Pac-Man, stated to be PlayStation 3 and Vita exclusives, are also on that disc.
This may or may not mean that the two will eventually be available to Xbox 360 owners, but the potential is apparently there. As for whether they'll be free or not? Well, our friend Jonathan Holmes over at Destructoid has a pretty good piece up about how it would be so, so very wrong if Capcom were to charge 360 owners to download those two; give it a look.
Though Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is not due to be available until November 15th, it seems that some avid fans are already getting their hands on copies of Bradygames' official guide to the beefed-up fighter. Such is the case of Shoryuken forums user TheDarkPhoenix, pictured with his prize at right. And what secrets the guide contain? Well, given the nature of this website, you know we aren't talking about anything to do with Captain America or Phoenix Wright or Rocket Raccoon. That, and the title sort of spoils it.
Anyway, another pic was uploaded, which you can see below. But odds are, you already have an idea of what to expect. As for how you'll take it... well, look on, and decide for yourself.
That's right: the downloadable alternate costume for Zero will be none other than the much-desired and frequent poll winner for new fighters, Mega Man X. Might this be the "Mega Man news" Seth Killian alluded to previously?
We don't know whether this merely changes the appearance of Zero, or more (name, voice, cutscenes, or anything), which will no doubt leave a bitter taste in the mouth of those championing the Blue Bomber's appearance in the game. On the bright side, it's not as though X has never wielded Zero's saber before, and the Buster is in, so... well, it's something, at least. Just not necessarily what fans were wanting, though as said before, that remains to be seen.
In addition, TheDarkPhoenix notes that another Mega Man-related alternate costume download is Frank West in his Blue Bomber attire. Plus, there seem to be some Mega Man cameos in some of the game's endings; to avoid spoilers, we won't post it here, but check out our Twitter feed for a link if you wish to see it for yourself.
Thanks to @AquaTeamV3 for the tip!
Update: Thanks to @DMThigpen for providing not only an image of Frank West's DLC attire, but Tron's as well:
MMN Note: Yeah, the post changed since it first went up; Heat and I were both making one, but we decided to run with mine.

Hot on the heels of the game's release and the subsequent DLC voting that occurred, Ryota Niitsuma was interviewed by 4Gamer (via andriasang) discussed Marvel vs Capcom 3, additional DLC, and further sequels. On the sequel front, among his wish list picks he indicated an interest in adding yet another Mega Man character. No word on who it would be, but it's safe to say that the fans have a good idea on who it should be. However, when it comes to DLC for MVC3 he said that while there are no plans for adding additional characters outside of Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath, adding characters would not be difficult.
Here's hoping they can iron out any potential kinks and make additional, unplanned DLC a possibility. Or we could always hope for Super Marvel vs Capcom 3!
The voting is over, the dust has settled, and the results are in. And X fans should be accordingly happy! Because in the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC fan poll, the big blue guy won it with 2,568 votes, a whopping 542 votes ahead of second pick Phoenix Wright. In fact, 34% of all people who voted chose X as one of the three picks. Additionally, Classic Mega Man came in 9th with 967 votes, Bass.EXE came in 10th with 889 votes, Sigma came in 13th (barely falling behind Ryu (other Ryu)) with 790 votes, and MegaMan.EXE landed in 19th with 548 votes. But hey, great going X! Of course, gotta be Mr. Killjoy now and reiterate this was not an official Capcom poll, and does not have any official bearing on future DLC choices. However, should Capcom look to fan feedback in making a selection, I'd say X has a pretty strong resume.
But hey, we can still discuss it. Now that we know Mega Man X is the top pick among voting fans, just which Mega Man X would you like to see? His usual form? Perhaps his slimmed down X8 form? Maybe his stealthy Command Mission form? Or how about one of any number of armors? How do you see X being a formidable opponent?
Thanks for the tip, Racerman!
Voting for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC has returned. This time Capcom Unity moderator Zonic has setup simple polls listing the top 25 desired characters from both the Capcom thread and the Marvel thread. You can select up to three characters on each poll, and voting will run until March 5th, midnight PST. At the moment of writing this, Mega Man X actually does hold a lead in the Capcom poll. As always, I must stress this is not an official Capcom poll and may not necessarily have any bearing on future DLC picks. However, Capcom's Sven has mentioned they are aware of the polls, and any fan feedback can potentially be considered for future decisions on updates. Come what may, it never hurts to make your voices heard!
It wasn't too long back that Capcom Unity opened voting for most desired DLC characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on their forums. It seems voting ended a bit earlier than previously reported, but the Capcom character thread alone saw over 6,000 responses in that time frame. Although there are no official tallies yet, fans keeping track of the votes have reported Mega Man X has been the top voted character, at least during the majority of the polling time. If not the most wanted, he's definitely up near the top. Other popular picks include classic Mega Man, Bass.EXE and Sigma. I should also point on that some months back, Japanese fans were polled with the same question, and in that case too, Mega Man X (ahem, Rockman X) was also the top Capcom pick. It would seem from the East to the West, this X guy is pretty dang popular.
Of course it goes without saying that this in no way gives any guarantee for Mega Man X appearing in later DLC. All it states is that the demand is there. Personally I've been finding Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to be incredibly fun as it is, and if anything Amaterasu is my top character so far. HHHHHHHHHHHH
Update: The official tallies are in, and Mega Man X ended up in second place with 2,061 votes, a scant 33 behind Strider Hiryu. Also making the top 20 is classic Mega Man, Bass.EXE, MegaMan.EXE and Sigma. A poll will be held on Unity at a later date allowing people to vote on the top 20 finalists in both the Capcom and Marvel sides. But again, this is not an official Capcom survey and will not determine any future DLC outcomes. Thanks, Aliltias!
Starting last night, Capcom Unity opened forum topics for you to vote for your most desired DLC characters in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. For all those who've felt slighted for whatever reason by the main choices, here's your opportunity to make your voices heard! You can go here to vote on the Capcom characters, and go here to vote on the Marvel characters. You can vote for a minimum of three characters and a maximum of five, and voting will be closed during night. You have until February 28th to cast your votes, so hurry and get your votes in! Hundreds already have.
Thanks for the tip, Glitcher!
A couple days back, Capcom's Rockman Unity promoter Ucchy-san teased that "something green" would be making a special appearance at the Mega Man Universe stage at Tokyo Game Show. Could it be Auto? Or maybe Tornado Man? Or Teisel Bonne!? All incorrect: it is Gachapin. And in a collaboration with MMU, a "Megapin" playable character is planned to be included in the game as a future DLC update. I'm guessing to many of you who aren't residents of Japan, this news is hardly thrilling to you. However, it does confirm two things. First it confirms that Capcom will indeed be expanding the game's content with DLC (though I'd be surprised if anyone didn't expect this). Second, it confirms that the scope of content in MMU is even greater than we could have imagined, not being relegated to just Capcom properties.
Additionally, you can see some pretty silly images from the stage event on Dengeki.
Thanks, Toshihisa! (Image from 4gamer.net)
Have you started getting a little tired of playing as Bass and battling against the clock with Enker? Well look alive, because the rest of Mega Man 10's DLC releases this week, and it's alreadsy out today for the Nintendo Wii. This update includes the other two special stages, as well as the supremely awesome Endless Attack mode. Content descriptions and videos below. Special Stage 2 (Punk) = $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points. Special Stage 2’s boss is second Mega Man Killer Punk, also created by Dr. Wily. He was designed to be bigger than Enker in size and his special attack is a rapid spinning tackle. Now folks are going to be tempted to rush through on these stages because they are timed, but be careful because the Parabombs in this stage will make life hell for you.
Special Stage 3 (Ballade) = $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points. And finally for the Special Stage 3 we have Ballade, the third Mega Man Killer created after Enker and Punk. This robot is enormously proud of himself and he will not give up easily, even he’s close to death! Make sure to watch out for the fierce attacks he unleashes from high jumps. His stage requires smart decision-making because a series of conveyor belts and diverse traps will challenge the most masterful Mega Man pro.
Endless Attack = $2.99 USD /300 Wii Points/ 240 Microsoft Points Test your skills on a stage without end. Try to break the record for getting the farthest. Results will be displayed in the Rankings page. Not compatible with other Challenges.
Additionally, below are a couple videos demonstrating the Screw Crusher and Ballade Cracker, two new special weapons you can get by beating Special Stages 2 and 3.
Hard to believe that Mega Man 10 has been out for a month now (at least for Wii owners). I've greatly enjoyed the game, and keep getting the itch to go play through it again! And if you're like me and craving more, then this is your week as the first of Mega Man 10's downloadable contents are dropping. This week we'll of course be getting Bass Mode, which lets you play as Bass and use all his abilities. He even has his own specific story parts. This content will cost 200 Wii Points/160 MS Points/$1.99 on PSN.
Meanwhile, we'll also get the first Special Stage for the Time Attack Mode, a stage based off Wily's domain from Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge on Game Boy, and even features Enker as its boss. This will cost 100 Wii Points/80 MS Points/$0.99 on PSN.
The new content should be hitting the Wii in an hour or so, presuming it's updated at the same time of the Wii Shop. It arrive on the Xbox 360 on the 7th, and the Playstation 3 on the 8th.
For starters, a 3D-ish Mega Man 10 premium Xbox theme, which was previously thought exclusive to Japan, is now available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 240 Microsoft Points. It looks pretty cool, even if those Avatars don't look too excited about it.
Of interest to those outside the Xbox bubble is word that the official Mega Man 10 website has updated. Now you can find boss info, new screens, the viral video trailer, and best of all, some new Mega Man 10 desktop wallpaper.
Some new info has popped up regarding the downloadable content. Nothing major, but as some might have suspected, Bass and the Special Stages won't be hitting all three platforms at the same time. Here is how it breaks down:
North American Schedule/Pricing:
Bass (Playable Character) = $1.99 USD/200 Wii Points/ 160 Microsoft Points and Special Stage 1 (includes Enker) = $$.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.
4/5 - Wii
4/7 – Xbox 360
4/8 – Playstation 3
Endless Attack =$2.99 USD /300 Wii Points/ 240 Microsoft Points
Special Stage 2 (Punk) = $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.
Special Stage 3 (Ballade) = $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.
4/26 - Wii
4/28 – Xbox 360
4/29 – Playstation 3
Finally, if you're a member of the Capcom Unity, it might not be too late for you to head over and leave a comment letting them know why you deserve a free Xbox 360 download code for Mega Man 10 in order to have a shot at winning that very prize. They're randomly selecting ten winners today, so go! Go!

Yeah, so I know today is April Fools, and you all thought the Roll DLC thing was a joke. But the truth is it was a real tip off, and Capcom really did ask us to remove it. But it now seems they've had a change of heart, and rather than trying to squash leaks they will now coordinate them carefully. So I am proud to announce that The Mega Man Network and Protodude's Rockman Corner, in cooperation with Capcom*Unity, will be your center for the latest and hottest Mega Man news leaks! Check below for the press release.
San Mateo, CA – April 1, 2010
Capcom Unity has appointed the Mega Man Network as the main distributor of Mega Man leaks.
“We were tired of trying to extinguish multiple fires going on at the same time,” says jgonzo of Capcom Unity, “the recent Mega Man 9 Roll DLC leak kind of tipped us over the edge, so we had to do something.”
As part of the exclusive partnership, the Mega Man Network will be receiving weekly Famitsu issues directly from the printing factory in Japan, along with a handy usb thumbdrive full of complete digital scans for uploading.
Additionally, the newly developed Capcom Unity Ministry of Localized Enforcement Synergy will provide TMMN with ambassadors from within Capcom that will distribute information to TMMN’s bloggers. Rest assured, these ambassadors have undergone strict training that will allow them to share the best leaks that will provide for maximum blog coverage.
“Some of our leaks weren’t getting enough attention, so we designed this program specifically to address that,” says jgonzo, “Like when the Mega Man 9 secret was leaked—nobody was blogging about it. We’re going to rectify that immediately.”
Finally, Capcom Unity has appointed Protodude’s Rockman Corner as THE place to go to for all Mega Man Legends 3 rumors, because “that in its own deserves an entire website”.
"We hope to grow this program in the future to include the managing of ALL of our franchises' leaks, but we'll see how this pilot program goes," says jgonzo.
I apologize for the awkwardness of this, folks, but something has come up. Capcom has requested that we take down the information that was previously posted here. While I don't like covering up a story, my hands are tied when it comes to what Capcom wants. You may be able to look around elsewhere for this info. Again, I apologize for this inconvenience. Update: With the creation of the Capcom Unity Ministry of Localized Enforcement Synergy, we can now show you the original leaked press release again!
