Get an Early Bird Proto Man Bobble Budd at SDCC

A little while back, Multiverse Studio announced a new line of Mega Man themed Bobble Budds headed our way sometime in July, but with a particular one coming early at San Diego Comic Con. That particular one turns out to be the robot who always came first: Proto Man. If you're headed to SDCC, you can pick up a Proto Man Bobble Budd weeks in advance of the series release for $11.99 at the Multiverse Studio booth. He comes with shield and buster accessories.

Multiverse Announces New Mega Man Bobble Budds

Does anyone remember the commercial for Weebles? "Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down"? We wanted to do something like that for the headline, but without the actual assurance that Bobble Budds don't fall down with they bobble, it just seemed like a bad idea. The conflicts a writer faces...

But, we digress; following the release of the Servbot Bobble Budd and a poll from last year to determine who would come next, Multiverse Studio has revealed who the next generation of Bobble Budds will include.

The next batch of four figures will include the Blue Bomber, Mega Man; his bro-bot Proto Man, the thunderous Elec Man, and the super-strong Guts Man. From the press release:

Fans of the beloved franchise can now collect their favorite heroes and Robot Masters to display their undying affection for the legendary video game series. Bobble Budds unique shape and design perfectly incorporates the classic retro style of the Mega Man series. Each Bobble Budd figure measures 3.5-inches tall and features exclusive bobble head locking mechanism for optimal functionality and display.

These four will be available in July 2012 at select online retailers, with more to follow later this year. But if you can't wait and are attending San Diego Comic-Con, there will be a special exclusive Bobble Budd available at the Multiverse Studios/SOTA Toys booth (#2846) for $11.99. Considering the price of most SDCC exclusives, that's not bad.

Vote for Mega Man Bobble Budds

It was the Servbot that originally introduced us Mega Man fans to the Bobble Budd. Now the manufacturer is giving us the opportunity for more. Among concepts for new Bobble Budds are classic Mega Man and MegaMan Volnutt. All you have to do to show your support is find them and give them a Facebook like or a Google +1.Top voted characters will be considered for turning into real products.

Right now, MegaMan Volnutt seems to be a pretty popular choice. Just make sure you buy one if he wins! This would actually be a fantastic way to show some Legends 3 support. Use the Bobble Budd in all your promotions!

Thanks for the tip, stealthwoman and Dashe!

Servbot Bobble Budds in Nature

Have you bought your Servbot Bobble Budd yet? I was considering it myself but with all these Kotobukiya figure coming out now it's a tough choice for where to put the money. However, this figure review at Tomopop may help you make your decision. Alternatively, if you already have a Bobble Budd, this review will also instruct you how to treat the little guy. (Hint: He really doesn't like the toaster, even though his face says otherwise.)

Servbot Bobble Budds Coming to Capcom Store

A little while back, Capcom introduced a fun little Mega Man-themed toy: the Servbot Bobble Budd. Unfortunately only 1,000 were made for the Comic Con attendees to pick up. But if you were craving one before and couldn't get to the venue, worry not, Capcom will be stocking them in their own store in a week. The adorable Bobble Budds aren't just like your regular bobble head figure. They have adjustable arms, you can set the head to bobble or not bobble, and the body can be stored within its spherical head, for whatever need that may serve. Only 1,000 more were produced now, and they will go on sale August 12th for $9.95 US. You may preorder yours now, and may want to be quick - these are bound to go fast!
