The Mega Madness of MAGFest

While I love Otakon, the other convention I go to, it covers a wider variety of topics. MAGFest, however, feels like the closest we’ll ever get to a Mega Man centered con. Located at the lovely Gaylord Hotel at National Harbor DC, it’s definitely something you’ll want to experience if you’re local.

Guests included youtubers like Arin “Egoraptor”, and Smooth McGroove, who does a capella music, including Mega Man music. There was also musicians like Mega Ran, the Megas, DJ Cut Man, the Overclocked Remix gang and much more.

Don’t forget the Dealer’s room. Artists and Dealers were there selling their wares. I drank about three energy E-tanks I bought from there and got an E-tank flask. That’ll be fun to take to work.

When you tired of browsing the wares, it’s a short skip to the gaming area! There are a lot of games, including Mega Man. I also had the honor of being on the Mega Man-athon 2hosted by Half Empty E-Tank while they streamed Mega Man games for charity, Child’s Play. Thanks to them! Maybe I’ll sign up to play next time.

Also, let’s not forget the fan love: cosplay!

I couldn't resist wearing my servbot hat from my interview with Ryan Jampole at Baltimore Comic Con. I got complimented on the hat a LOT. So there's either a lot of Legends fans out there... or a lot of Dead Rising fans. Either way. And look! Another MAGFest come and gone. If you’re looking for a more night-orientated con with lots of music and love for Mega Man, this is your ticket. Until next time at Otakon!
