Mega Man X and MegaMan.EXE Costumes Coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Early this morning, after much anticipation, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai revealed the final fighter in the first character pass for the favorite subject of many “is it really a fighting game?” discussions.

Who could it be? Master Chief? Shadow the Hedgehog? Zero? Or maybe —

It was Byleth. The player character from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Because of course it would be. You can find out all about that here, if you’re so inclined.

Anyway, that wasn’t all that was revealed, as — relevant to this site — a new batch of Mii Fighter costumes were revealed: Mega Man X and MegaMan.EXE from Mega Man Battle Network.

Both costumes are, of course, for the Gunner style, and will be available for $0.75 USD each when they’re released on January 28th. If you’d like to see them in action, then check out the reveal trailer:

Will we ever see another Mega Man character added to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster? Well, that’s a definite “maybe,” as the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will bring another six fighters into the mix. Sakurai says they’ve already been decided, but naturally, he isn’t spilling the beans on any of them just yet.
