Mega Man 11’s Release Date Leaked?

Ah, now here’s an interesting little tidbit: It would appear that the PlayStation Store in Singapore of all places may have let loose lips leak a release date for Mega Man 11.

Word is that according to this page (which now only leads to an “Unable to find this page” message, but there it is if that sort of thing interests you), we can expect to see the game released on Wednesday, October 3rd. An odd day to release a game, to be sure, but Derek from GameXplain notes that they are several hours ahead of us here in North America. As such, for them, the day Mega Man 11 releases could be the most important Wednesday of their lives; but for us, it would be Tuesday.

With that said, the release date wasn’t the only thing that was available on that page. In addition, the following description sheds some new light on things:

Mega Man is back! The newest entry in this iconic series blends classic, challenging 2D platforming action with a fresh look. The stunning new visual style refreshes the series’ iconic colorfulness, combining hand-drawn environments with detailed, 3D character models.

To save the day, the Blue Bomber must battle Robot Masters and take their powerful weapons for himself, which now changes the hero’s appearance with new levels of detail. The innovative new Double Gear system lets you boost Mega Man’s speed and power for a new twist on the satisfying gameplay the series is known for.

A variety of difficulty modes makes this the perfect opportunity to experience Mega Man for the first time!

The bit about the Double Gear system seems to validate some of the earlier running theories about the gears we were seeing in screenshots.

And that’s all for now, but I strongly suspect we’re going to be hearing a fair bit more real soon.
