The Completionist: New Game Plus Revisits the Original Mega Man Trilogy

Following his replay of the original Mega Man X some months ago as the first of his “New Game Plus” series, Jirard “The Completionist” Khalil has elected to go back to where the franchise began and take on not one, not two, but three Mega Man games — the original three from the Nintendo Entertainment System hexalogy.

But this time, there’s a bit of a twist involved. Rather than playing on the original hardware, he’s checking these three out in their revised versions via the 2005 release of Mega Man Anniversary Collection for the Xbox:

Minor thing I noticed — at 10:52, that “II” in the Mega Man 2 logo really doesn’t look right. I’d ask why anyone would even, but at this point, that’s just how I’ve come to realize this collection is.

Anyway, if you’re interested in watching Jirard’s playthrough of Mega Man 3, you can check out the nearly three-hour long video right here, which is hosted on his personal channel (I haven’t watched the entire thing, so be warned there might be some Not Safe For Work language):

Hm, this reminds me: It’s been a while since I last livestreamed anything, Mega Man or otherwise (I’ve been busy). Maybe I should get back into that? Perhaps the upcoming Mega Man X Legacy Collection would be a good place to start? Or maybe I should go back and try to finish off the first two before that?

In any case, I’m interested in what you think! Feel free to tell me in the comments, Twitter, or wherever!
