On November 23rd, 2017, Capcom Mobile released the latest iteration of Puzzle Fighter for iOS and Android systems. And almost exactly five months later, they’ve announced that they’re shutting it down.

The free-to-play game will be available to download until July 1st, and continue to run until July 31st, 2018. At that point, its official servers will be shut down as Capcom Vancouver moves on to focus more on new Dead Rising games. As such, if you’re interested in any sort of archival effort to preserve the Mega Man X-related aspects of the game, you’ve now got your deadline set.

To that point, Dr. Wily is among the new characters added to the game in the wake of the announcement, and along with Regina and Ada Wong, will be available for free, as will upcoming levels Darminor and Uroboros Laboratory. You can also check out the soundtrack for free over on SoundCloud.

In-app purchases have officially ceased for the game, but players will be gifted 10,000 of the in-game currency of gems for their spending pleasure. Any existing in-game currency purchased beforehand will continue to work until it’s shut down.

“[W]e’d like to thank all the fans who have supported and enjoyed our Puzzle Fighter mobile game thus far,” stated Jeffery Simpson on Capcom-Unity. “As huge fans of Puzzle Fighter ourselves, the team here at Capcom Game Studio Vancouver is proud to have created a new version of the game that’s unique and enjoyable.”
