Following on the recent release of Mighty Gunvolt Burst on the PlayStation 4 as Gal*Gunvolt Burst, Inti Creates has revealed today some new downloadable content that will bolster the number of playable characters available in the game with the following trailer:
The Heroine Characters DLC pack adds not only Call from Mighty No. 9 and Joule from Azure Striker Gunvolt to the mix as playable characters, but also marks the English debut of Tenzou, protagonist of the very first Gal*Gun game who is responsible for the "Super Popular Legend" which has spread across the Sakurazaki Academy campus.
Each possesses their own unique abilities and play style, with Call using her Barrier for protection while forming a team of Patch robots to dispense with foes; Joule uses the power of song to form different bullet types, and can even use Anthem to ignore all CP limits for a limited time; and Tenzou does his best impression of Cyclops from the X-Men with his Pheromone Shot-firing Blaster Goggles, all while the angels Patako and Ekoro lend their aid with Doki Doki Mode and Angelic Guidance.
Those on the Nintendo Switch side of things, Call and Joule have already been around for a while, but Tenzou is hopping in to even things up:
Unfortunately, there's no word about the Nintendo 3DS version receiving him yet.
What's more, while the description on the Gal*Gunvolt Burst trailer says that the Heroine Characters DLC is $4.99 USD, no price is given on the Nintendo Switch side. To top it all off, as of this writing, I've checked both the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store, so while the trailers say these are available now, there's no sign of them there just yet.
Finally, in case you've missed it up to this point, I reviewed Mighty Gunvolt Burst all the way back when it first came out on the Nintendo Switch. Click the link for more details, but the short version is that I quite liked it, and feel it's what Mighty No. 9 should have been. For $9.99 USD, I feel like you really can't go wrong here.
