Two Changes Made to Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack for Nintendo Switch

With the recent release of Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 on the Nintendo Switch as the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, Inti Creates took advantage of the opportunity to make some changes. Some we know about, proudly trumpeted in the press releases and trailers, such as the frame rate being increased to 60 per second and menus being reconfigured for the single-screen experience. However, there are apparently some other changes which haven’t been touted as much.

Fortunately, ShadowRockZX is here to share two videos showing some changes made to the titles (the second of which contains some spoiler material, so consider yourself forewarned). The first is a change to the location of a jewel found in Zonda’s stage, Sinner’s Row, in the first of the two included titles:

The second, more spoiler-ish (and perhaps more obvious) change comes in this second video, which regards the final boss from Azure Striker Gunvolt 2:

While the first change seemed to be an issue of making things a little easier for the player, the second one is clearly the result of hardware limitations, and was pretty much inevitable — at least, shy of some other hacked-together solution, like making it a rhythm game-styled sequence or something (and thankfully they didn’t, as I’m terrible at those).

All told, the first change seems relatively minor, but what do you think about the second? Do you feel the game loses something significant, or are you just relieved you don’t have to sing while playing near friends or family (unless you were just going to blow into the mic, in which case you’re probably not too broken up about it)?
