New for 2017: An Update to Mighty No. 9 Backers from Comcept!

Well, wouldn’t you know it? No sooner than I posted the news about Comcept becoming a part of Level-5 than an update went out from the company to those who had backed Mighty No. 9 on Kickstarter. All told, it sounds like good news for those who have waited so long for any news.

For starters, there’s the matter of the portable versions of the game. They have not been cancelled, but the process of porting the game had to be put on hold until the start of May due to the “recent adjustment” that was made within Comcept. They reassure everyone that things are back on track now, however, and that they are expecting them to be released within 2017. They note that it’s difficult to estimate precisely, but it could even be earlier!

Uh, does anyone want to break the news to them about that? No? Okay then, moving on.

As for the rest of the physical rewards, they say that most of them have been manufactured and are getting ready to be shipped out in a couple of weeks, with everything on its way by mid-August (and some of it having even reached some backers by then).

They apologize for the delay, and note that Fangamer should be sending an e-mail out to everyone who is waiting for rewards to confirm the physical address of the recipients before shipping things out. They will update further when the e-mail has gone out, and if you haven’t received the e-mail following that, then they say you should get in touch with Fangamer at orders@fangamer.com so they can verify the information they have on hand.

Finally, they close with the matter of “the new company.”

What does this mean, you ask? It means that Akihiro Hino, and Keiji Inafune will be teaming up to make new games!!! This does not affect Mighty No. 9 in any way, but who knows, maybe in the future Beck, and your favorite LEVEL-5 characters may be tagging along in new adventures? The possibilities are limitless here.

And with that, they say they hope that this has addressed some of the ongoing questions and concerns, and that they’ll try to bring the next update much sooner.

Thanks to The Hoff for passing this my way!
