Iwamoto Rockman X and Zero Model Kit Officially Named and Priced

We’ve heard bits and pieces about the upcoming X and Zero statue based on a scene from Yoshihiro Iwamoto’s Rockman X manga in months prior to this, but now it finally seems that the fruit of producer Amakuni’s labor is in sight, as new details have surfaced.

First and foremost, BigBadToyStore has opened up pre-orders for the item, which is described by them not as a statue, but as a pre-painted model kit which stands about 5.90 inches (15cm) and weighs close to two pounds (when shipped; probably a little less outside of its packaging).

The pre-orders were apparently not supposed to begin until June, but what are you going to do? In any case, the November 2017 arrival remains the same.

What may take you aback is the price. To have X weep over the remaining broken pieces of his fallen comrade in the comfort of your own home will cost you $324.99 USD (and that’s not counting taxes/shipping).

Besides the price, there are a couple of other interesting points of note: The official name for the product is “Rockman X: X & Zero ‘To The Big Bright Future…'”, but what’s curious is that the title also says “(Comic Version)”, which suggests that perhaps there may be another version to come?

But given that the image is lifted directly from the manga, what other version could there be? Perhaps a black-and-white version, reflective of the actual printed page? Or maybe they have some way to make it look more like the games?
