Is 20XX “Even Better Than Infinite Mega Man X”?

A little over a year ago, we took a quick look at a new game to Steam’s Early Access program called 20XX. This product of Batterystaple Games was made to play like Mega Man X (including a Zero analog), but with random levels and power-ups, multiplayer, and permanent death.

More recently, the game took to the show floor of the Penny Arcade Expo East, where folks could pair up and see what the fuss is all about.

Over at USgamer, Mike Williams has written up his thoughts on his time with the game, making note of the level of challenge he encountered while playing. For comparison, he likens it to the later levels of a Mega Man X game, but adds that his partner had an easier time with their Mega Buster-styled ranged attacks than he did getting up close and personal with a beam saber.

For the full extent of Williams’ thoughts (about a two-minute read, according to the site’s calculations), head on over to USgamer. And if you’re interested in trying it for yourself now, you can get it on Steam Early Access for $11.99 USD.
