Mega Man Legends Coming to North American PlayStation Store

It’s a moment many thought would never come… though it did seem a whole lot more likely after The Misadventures of Tron Bonne was released to the PlayStation Store earlier this year.

On Tuesday, September 29th, 2015, Mega Man Legends will finally arrive in the North American PlayStation Store where it can be downloaded for a price of $9.99. This “is considerably lower than the game’s going rate on the likes of eBay,” according to Greg “GregaMan” Moore on Capcom Unity, who adds “I hope you’ll agree with me that it is well worth it to finally see this game available again.”

I am delivering this message today thanks to Brelston, who has helped to champion the pursuit of these coveted fan-requested re-releases with the team here at Capcom, in collaboration with our friends over at PlayStation, and as always huge thanks to the continued support for this game from the community.

It’s not all good news, unfortunately. For starters, the PlayStation 4 doesn’t run PSone Classics, at least not through PlayStation Store purchases. Worse is that “due to a variety of constraints, it will not play on the PSP,” thus leaving only the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita as the only platforms this release will run on, so “please be aware.”

Still, that aside, this has to be considered a net win overall for fans of the series. Perhaps with any luck, this brings us one step closer to some sort of special release on a disc, or even a Mega Man Legacy Collection type of treatment for the whole trilogy.
