Mega Man’s Going Down to Comic-Con

The San Diego Comic-Con begins July 9th, and the Blue Bomber’s presence is going to be felt there in a pretty good way. Sure, there may not be a brand-new game announced, but there is still plenty to see, do, and most of all, buy for the true blue Mega Man aficionado.

In addition to the previously-announced SDCC-exclusive figures of Mega Man and Break Man from Kid Robot, you’ll also find Mega Man helmets… lots and lots of Mega Man helmets, in fact!

First up is this set of five miniature helmets, representing a variety of colors and items Mega Man has used over the years, though this set specifically focuses on the Mega Man 2 set. What’s interesting is that they broke from the Mega Man 2 theme to include Mega Man’s colors used while summoning Rush… which is actually a more pinkish-red in Mega Man 3. Ironically, the color here does do well to represent the colors used when Mega Man calls upon Items 1, 2, and 3… in Mega Man 2. Go figure.

These will be available at the show, and are a Capcom Store exclusive.

Now for the main event…

Remember gushing over ThinkGeek’s Mega Buster replica? That was pretty awesome, but if only there were a helmet to go with it. Oh wait — now there is!

This one won’t be available to purchase at the show; however, you can see it on display and pre-order it! From Capcom Unity:

Due to immense popular demand! There have been many attempts at creating a wearable Mega Man helmet over the years, but it’s never been made officially. Made of high quality ABS plastic with a high polish finish, authentic proportions and details, plus working LED lights! A unique clamshell hinge allows the front and back half of the helmet to easily open up to comfortably fit your head inside the soft padded interior for a perfect fit.

This is a high quality replica of the Blue Bomber’s helmet – perfect for display in home or office, but it also doubles as the ultimate role play accessory! Comes shipped in a decorated box suitable for displaying your helmet when not in use. The perfect addition to those that already purchased the full-size working, sold-out Mega Man Buster from Think Geek last year!

This item will be on display at SDCC but not yet available for sale. Watch shop.capcom.com for a limited time Pre-Order opportunity.

Capcom themselves will have other goods on sale at the show, including statues of Street Fighter‘s Ryu and Dark Ryu, a MadCatz Street Fighter fight stick for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, a variety of Monster Hunter goodies, and a Capcom Grab Bag filled with all sorts of stuff — possibly even more Mega Man swag, too! From Capcom Unity:

Capcom returns with the perennial favorite sell-out – The Capcom Grab Bag. Each bag is jam-packed with cool, exclusive Capcom products based on all its brands and can feature anything from video games, tshirts, action figures, collectibles and more. Every bag, every year is different and is always a sure-fire hit and sell out with the fans. Plus, you get an awesome Capcom-branded drawstring bag that you can use everyday at work or school. PLUS: Several of the bags have a “Golden Ticket” which awards you a very valuable, super-cool prize worth $50 or more.

You can see the full breadth of it by clicking here. But wait, there’s more!
