Nintendo Direct Reveals New Mega Man Costumes in Nintendo Games

The new Nintendo Direct, as they said themselves, was no joke… and that includes news for Mega Man fans!

First, new Mii costumes are on the way for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as downloadable content. As seen above, you can  dress up your Mii as Mega Man X or Proto Man on April 15th for $0.75 USD on each platform, or $1.15 USD to get both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions.

Oh, and as a bonus, you’ll also get a few other costumes thrown in as well.

Of note is that these are just “Wave One,” so perhaps we could see some other familiar faces from Mega Man series in future waves?

Furthermore, if you’re one of the lucky fellows to get their hands on a Mega Man amiibo figure, then you may be pleased to know that an impending April 23rd update for Mario Kart 8 will also allow you to dress your Mii racer as Mega Man himself!

One other thing: It’s a long shot, but if you want to see another Mega Man character added to Super Smash Bros., now is the time to make your voice heard in their new character poll.

It’s no new game announcement, but at least it’s good to see that even months after the release of Super Smash Bros., Nintendo is still taking care of our Blue Bomber.

Update: You can now find Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS screens and character models of Mega Man X on our Rock Tumblr here and here; Proto Man here and here; a mixture of them here and here; and the Mario Kart 8 costume and screenshot (along with Sonic) here.
