Mega Man Battle Network in Wii U eShop Today, Plus Special Announcement (Update)

Though not as good as Europe’s bounty, at least Mega Man Battle Network has arrived in the North American Nintendo eShop on Wii U. Here’s the description:

MEGA MAN BATTLE NETWORK – Lan and his extraordinary network navigator MEGA MAN.EXE are skilled computer operators who hack into the expansive network world and battle network crime. In this Game Boy Advance classic, defeat hackers and viruses in real time, while collecting Battle Chips that will help along the way. Click here to watch a trailer for the game.

All well and good, but there’s more! Nintendo’s press release adds:

If you like Mega Man, then you’re in for a treat – a classic Mega Man game will release every Thursday in August in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U!

Pretty cool, but what do we call this? Mega… Maugust? Actually, that’s pretty bad. Any other suggestions?

Update: On Capcom Unity, Brett Elston has revealed how it’s going down:

Much like Mega May, August 2014 will see a Mega Man title released on the eShop each Thursday. I’ll even go one further say these are the titles:

Mega Man 5 (NES)

Mega Man 6 (NES)

Mega Man X3 (SNES)

Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge (GBA)

However, the release order will be a mystery… so you’ll have to fire up your Wii U each Thursday to see which one came out!

EU players, don’t worry – there are MM titles on the way too. In fact, you got MMBN on July 24th!

Not sure what we should call this month… Mega May made sense, but Mega August? Megust? Megaugust?

Clearly they’re in the same pickle we are. Blue Bombust? Azure August? No, then the new guy might get upset…
