iOS Mega Man X’s Ranking Goes Up as Its Price Goes Down

For those interested in the iOS version of Mega Man X, there is good news: Word through the grapevine is that to celebrate Independence Day, Capcom has lowered the price on three of its iOS games: Street Fighter IV Volt, Monster Hunter: Dynamic Hunting, and Mega Man X. The first was $6.99 while the other two were $4.99, but until July 4th, they are each 99 cents.
As a result of the cut, Mega Man X has climbed the iOS sales charts, landing at #7 among the top paid Apps for the iPhone, and #10 for the iPad. As Protodude notes, “Quality port or not, that’s pretty spectacular. I mean, do you know how long it’s been since any X game made it on a top ten of any sort? Like, years. Yeah it’s a bit sad but, hey, at least the series is getting some mainstream exposure.” We could not have put it any better ourselves.

We previously covered the review posted on the iPhone game website Slide to Play. Noted within is that the game is of good quality as iPhone platformers go, though changes made to this version make it pale in comparison to the Super NES and PlayStation Portable versions. However, in the time since the review was published, additions have been made to the game, including an “Endless Mode.”

You can find Mega Man X in the App Store here.
