Powerglove Goes to Japan with Mega– er, Rockman

With but one small exception, we haven’t said much about the speed metal group Powerglove. It hasn’t been by design or anything, merely circumstance. However, today brings a little bit of news to help us change that.

Via Heat Man, Cap Kobun has come across a little something interesting on Amazon Japan. Specifically, he reports that they are accepting pre-orders for a new debut album the group is releasing there called “Videogame Metal.” Due to be released on July 25th, the album will also feature cover art by Guilty Gear artist Daisuke Ishiwatari.

The album will contain music from the game series Final Fantasy, Castlevania, Guilty Gear, and of course Mega Man/Rockman. What is currently unknown is whether these will be new tracks or arrangements, or a collection of their previous work, as these same games were featured on their album “Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man.”

This is all the information we have at present, but we’ll let you know when we have more information. In the meantime, if you haven’t already, you can get an idea of what they bring to the table by playing their rendition of Mega Man 2‘s Dr. Wily stage theme above.
